Retailers Slash Work Hours Rapidly Ahead Of ObamaCare
Investors Business Daily ^ | 5/3/2013 | Jed Graham

Retailers are cutting worker hours at a rate not seen in more than three decades — a sudden shift that can only be explained by the onset of ObamaCare's employer mandates.

If you double the number of workers but keep the total hours worked exactly the same, does that not equate to a larger workforce and less unemployment - at least statistically speaking?

Is that not a major factor in what is happening to our unemployment stats right now?

On the bright side, we’ll all be free to, as Pelosi said, dedicate our jobless lives to pursuing the fine arts.

Obama is well on his way to creating the society he wants. A small group of workers paying crushing taxes to support government welfare for a large population of unemployed or semi-employed people who either don’t want to or can’t find full time work with benefits. The more you mandate that employers provide all kinds of benefits to workers, the more you create a dual class society with zero mobility between the classes.

What is so funny is watching the liberals twist into knots about the application and following of the laws!

Usually, liberals are all about following the LETTER of the law, even getting thugs, rapists and criminals off by playing stupid word-games with judges, lawyers and juries!

Now, they are all SCREAMING and gnashing their teeth because businesses aren’t following the INTENT of the law (which was to force companies to provide things which they CANNOT afford to provide)!

Proof that Liberalism is a mental disease! You can’t have a FUNCTIONING BRAIN CAVITY and actually want the laws applied/followed one way for one set of people and then want them applied/followed another way for a different set of people!

I dont want to laugh...but you almost have to, at least to avoid crying.

The people wanted this bullshot. We tried to warn you. We tried to tell you to read the bill. You were too busy rubbing you hands together for all of that sweet sweet free healthcare like they have in Swedonia or whatever Eurotrash hole.

Well, enjoy. Use that extra time to have some garage sales because you will have to sell your home to move into quarters fitting of an O-care recipient.

The obamites don’t care. For purposes of reporting in the news, someone who works 29 hours is full time.

Increasing the payroll while halving the number of hours each may work effectively cuts productivity down by an almost exponential factor. Productivity is what makes capitalism work, as the more productivity, the less the per-unit cost, and the higher wages that can be passed on to the individual worker. At lower cost, a lower price may also be asked of the consumer, increasing competitiveness in the market place.

But now, twice as many people are each being half as much as before, so the average wages FALL, which reflects negatively in the demand for goods and services in the marketplace. People of lower incomes do not shop at Macy’s or Whole Foods. They go to second-hand shops and dig around Dumpsters for their next meal. They double up and share rent on housing, four or five people crammed into a space meant for only one or two. Unconventional sites for housing, such as shipping containers or storage units, are put into use, often in ways that violate any and all of the local codes.

This would best described as a death spiral.

It is not just retailers who are slashing hours to avoid Obamacare.

Colleges and universities are doing the same thing.

Yesterday it was reported that HEADSTART is slashing hours to avoid buying healthcare for its employees.

Yes. There was much made this week about the recent 0.2 hours-per-week drop in the average workweek — the equivalent of a loss of some 700K full-time jobs.

Happening all over - exactly the way those of us who opposed it said it would. None of these people will have health insurance, and those who could afford to buy their own policy outside of their employer now can no longer afford it and will have to drop it.

All of the problems we said would happen are happening, none of the miraculous benefits the liberals said would materialize will happen. Now the question is - are the liberals just stupid and believed their own nonsense about this bill, or did they do it intentionally to destroy the system completely to have an excuse to usher in single payer, completely state run healthcare systems?

They’ll blame it on the Republicans, none of whom voted for the bill.

Yes we will be free to travel and enjoy ourselves. We will also make the French look like workaholics! ;-)
