Coming soon to a municipality near you. A lot of local governments are going to get to the point where their primary function is to pay retired government workers. And any citizen who can will flee those jurisdictions and the remaining taxpayers will get horrible roads and services and a huge tax burden. And if anyone tries to reduce benefits, the courts will stop it. The future of American municipalities is not a pretty picture.
Abuse of disability is the single biggest albatross around the neck of NYC.
Cops, firemen, sanitation, railroad employees etc,. have done tremendous damage here with phony disability claims. Even after they get caught nothing changes.
I have a relative who was a LEO in Buffalo. Made about $40,000 a year. In his last year, he worked so much overtime he made over $100,000. He retired after 20 years with an annual pension of $87,000.
Another way unions and democrats are bankrupting this country.
Federal funding for more police for a few years really works! /s
