Jim DeMint: Immigration reform will cost Americans trillions

Former South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint argued on Sunday that implementing immigration reform as proposed by the “Gang of Eight” would “cost Americans trillions of dollars.”

“The study you’ll see from Heritage this week presents a staggering cost of another amnesty in our country and the detrimental effects long term that that will have,” Mr. DeMint, president of the Heritage Foundation, said on ABC’s “This Week.”

The “media” and the politicians are saying that “americans” are demanding that this amnesty bill be passed quickly without taking the time to think it through and identify the consequences. Are “americans” really that stupid or are the “media” toads and foghorn politicians lying to us?

The best historical example of how a country got overwhelmed by illegal immigrants is South Africa. Look what happened to them. By the time elections for Nelson Mandela took place, the great majority of the election participants were illegal immigrants.
