A perfect bookend to the week, particularly in light of yesterday's news. Maybe all those discussions between Rubio and Schumer are paying off after all:
SCHUMER: Our insurance department is in power to protect families. We’re going to watch them like a hawk to make sure they do that. And if they don’t, those rates could go through the roof.
REPORTER: Is it because of Obamacare?
SCHUMER: It’s in part because of Obamacare, but healthcare costs have been going up in double digits for years and years.
Considering Schumer's role as Senate Democrats' chief messaging guru, this is big. Still, I feel compelled to deconstruct his Obamacare goalpost shifting, which is now par for the course on the Left, out of necessity. The first part of his answer is all about coercive government price controls. In short, Obamacare places all sorts of costly mandates on private insurers. To comply with said mandates, insurers raise premiums in order to stay in business.

Not a problem Americans will suck back some more, raise taxes, spend us in oblivion, take our guns, and make all the people slaves of the obummer admin and say it’s for the children!

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?
If We The People act like morons, and meekly accept absurd statements, and quietly tolerate egregious unconstitutional actions by elected officials, we will continue to be treated like morons.
So what Senator Schumer? “They’ve been going up for years.” Yes - so how does it make it better to make them dramatically increase even more on top of it due to Obamacare? It was sold to us that it would make them go down - just like “getting a pay raise” we were told.
The people who viote Demonrat won't care.

Prior to the Obama Health Care episode....everyone was completely agreed on this...costs on health care was a major problem. It didn’t matter if you were on health insurance or not...there is something wrong with the system. We are all pretty much agreeable on that fact.
But from the 2k-odd pages of the law, there’s not much that slows down this escalation or cheapens health insurance, or brings something into the picture to correct the burden of cost. If anything...we will double the cost by 2020.
I’ll go out on the limb here and predict that by 2023 (a decade away)...half of all Americans are not on any health insurance at all, nor can they afford it. The other half will be shocked yearly by the continuing rates.
“What difference now does it make”.
This is pretty much his main point and its the model response for arrogant liberals to reply to thier dysfunctionally failed policies.
Or you can simplify and just assume they all mean this...”tough schit and what are you going to do about it”.
