Posted by CNN's Ashley Killough

(CNN) – California Gov. Jerry Brown, a Democrat, signed legislation Wednesday that will boost funding for state efforts to confiscate firearms from those prohibited by law from owning them, the governor's office announced.

The bill gives $24 million from the Dealers' Record of Sale fund - fees paid by gun owners at the time of purchase - to the state's Department of Justice to help clear the backlog of individuals who once purchased a gun but are now barred from possessing firearms.

The state's Bureau of Firearms has identified about 20,000 Californians who illegally hold an estimated 40,000 handguns and assault weapons, with the list growing by 15 to 20 every day.

The money will fund 36 additional agents to increase enforcement of the operation that confiscates such weapons. Cities most targeted in the Armed and Prohibited Persons program include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Fresno and Riverside.

I took your original comment to mean thusly: “that if you want to sell a firearm you must have it registered FIRST.”

Now I know what you meant to say. “An FFL transaction sale = registration.” I agree.

There is still a Constitutional requirement in Article 5 of the Bill of Rights that there must be due process before taking anyone's property.

We are all sworn to uphold and defend the US Constitution. So, you better bring a court order to take the gun or expect resistance.

Glad you were able to sort it out. And registration = confiscation. Perhaps not right away but you can bet all your ammunition that there will eventually be a confiscation of your weapon.

There you go, problem solved. So why all the clamor for new laws?

“How about the Guv send those new jack boot hires down to the barrios and ghettos and start confiscating some of the stolen guns owned by the 100,000 or so gang members and cartel sicaros infesting the place and causing genuine mayhem?”

A suggested few areas to do what you suggest:

The barrios in LA and S California, the barrios in East San Jose, Stockton and ____________ fill in the blank.

Then go to Watts, Oakland, Richmond, San Jose to eliminate the sons of Obozo and Holder from havin illegal guns, who have turned these cities into shooting grounds with dead victims on a regular basis.

“What do you think the FFL transaction accomplishes? Yes, registration. Illegal registration but it is still registration.”

Funny how some people just don’t get this. FFL is registration.
The database does exist. If the government says otherwise
they are lying through their teeth.

They will easily fold to the libs. They are too busy watching their TV’s to be bothered anyway. Trained dogs will sniff out anything, but probably only from the evil folk who clearly got their jobs and were able to purchase such property due to white privilege. Obama’s people will not be bothered, since that would be racissss.

Rod Serling: Soothsayer.

"You walk into this room at your own risk, because it leads to the future, not a future that will be, but one that might be. This is not a new world, it is simply an extension of what began in the old one. It has patterned itself after every dictator who has ever planted the ripping imprint of a boot on the pages of history since the beginning of time. It has refinements, technological advances, and a more sophisticated approach to the destruction of human freedom. But like every one of the super-states that preceded it, it has one iron rule: logic is an enemy and truth is a menace. - This is Mr. Romney Wordsworth, in his last forty-eight hours on Earth. He's a citizen of the State but will soon have to be eliminated, because he's built out of flesh and because he has a mind. Mr. Romney Wordsworth, who will draw his last breaths - in The Twilight Zone."
