The MIT police officer who was executed in his patrol car on Friday morning was drawn into a trap by the Boston Marathon bombing suspects - who killed him for his gun - it has been claimed.
Sean Collier, 27, died from multiple gunshot wounds in the early morning hours of Friday as he responded to a noise complaint.
The motivation for that murder was at first unclear, but police now believe that the suspects shot him in order to steal his gun.

and they didn’t even get it
I had not seen this before....but there is so much info flowing.
If he may have known Tamerlan from that boxing gym, that could raise question of whether Tamerlan lured him into a vulnerable situation exploiting that trust? Seems odd that the one officer ambushed (out of thousands in the Boston region) could ne one that Tamerlan knew?
This was known the same day he was murdered.
The media (commie press) chose to ignore it.
But the lefties are exploiting the bombing to push gun control.
The article provides absolutely no evidence. The officer is dead, they didn’t take his gun, one of the men is dead, the other man isn’t talking.
So how would they have ANY IDEA why they shot the police officer?
Maybe they were just nervous about seeing a police officer and killed him.
“CBS News reported that Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev were armed with just one gun and a pellet gun, and may have been looking to broaden their arsenal.”
The news at the time was that they had multiple guns, long rifles and handguns, and tons of ammo.
Now they had a bb gun and one handgun, I guess that’s not justification enough to lock down a city and go door to door.
Well, that’s one viable way around the ‘background check’: Murder a cop or burglarize a cop car parked outside the Cracker Barrel.
Schumer was ranting yesterday that the brothers could have walked in to “any gun store” and purchased guns.
Well, not in MA, and no handguns across state borders. Liar.
I’ve read elsewhere they told the guy in the carjacked SUV this.
Ten bucks says that in response to this story MIT will disarm all its police officers.
I claim BS.
Well there are reports he shot himself just before captured....guess he had a gun within him while in the boat.
If only guns weren’t illegal,
they wouldn’t have had to murder the officer for his gun...

Did that retention system hinder the officer from defending himself?
I was wondering why the officer was by himself. I thought they were always with a partner.
Thanks Ernest.
I'd take that bet. Big government types don't want to disarm government agents. They just want to disarm Joe Citizen.
