What Will Happen When The Government Collapses?
The Western Center for Journalism ^ | Arpil 27, 2013 | Floyd Brown

Posted on 04/29/2013 9:11:55 AM PDT by Perseverando

Yesterday, my colleague, Marty Biancuzzo, explained why America is on a path to inevitable economic and government collapse.

After reading Marty’s piece, another colleague asked me: What will America look like after a government collapse?

It’s an important question, and I want to give a satisfactory answer. But I can’t do that in one short column, so I plan to return to this topic several times over the next few weeks. I hope that when I’m done, you will have a better understanding of where the country is headed.

Now, consider our current situation…

It’s clear that Barack Obama and Congress have no plan to get the dead-in-the-water economy moving. In fact, they appear to be completely incompetent.

Too many Americans are jobless, an excessive number of Americans are dependent on government handouts to eat, and the countless Americans who could contribute to the economic recovery are frozen in place, unwilling to take risks due to an uncertain regulatory environment.

Now, it’s fashionable in some governmental circles to argue that another Great Depression could never happen. Politicians reason that America at present has far more tools to prevent such a cataclysm.

They believe that “things are different this time.” If only they knew how right they were.

It Is Different This Time… It’s Worse

I’ve heard investment advisors, central bankers, and politicians use the phrase “It’s different this time” so often, I want to wretch. This asinine statement is arrogant beyond reason.

Frankly, I believe we’re much more vulnerable to a prolonged depression than we were in 1929.

Here’s the truth: Today’s monetary manipulation may forestall a bust, but it can’t change the fact that one is inevitable. And when it arrives, it’ll be more devastating and difficult to solve than in the past.

Martial law will be declared. There will be a run on the banks as well as all food and fuel resources.

Libs everywhere will be turned loose by the government to attack conservatives. Unable to do that, the libs will tell authorities where those conservatives are.

Camps will be built to “protect” true Americans as libs loot everything in site.

At this point opportunistic countries will make their play.

Those of us who managed to stay under the radar will find each other and take back our country. The new will put those who destroyed us on trial and hang them as they aren’t worth the bullets.

Wolverines!!!

Bullets will fly. Food, fuel, and electricity will be nonexistent for 6 months.

But isn't the right more armed than the left? If the Govt collapsed, wouldn't those who own arms have more power than the libs? the conservatives act on principle, not emotions.

Look what is happening right before your eyes and take heed. There’s a Great Storm coming you can feel it.

We have enter a time that George Orwell spoke of ‘as a time of universal deceit, wherein telling the truth will be considered a revolutionary act’ or as the bible says a time ‘in which men call evil good, and good evil’.

Listen to what the bible says: A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it. NIV Proverbs 22:3

One of the things that will hurt is the fact that many will not except that a breakdown is occurring even as they watch it happening before their eyes. Why don’t they realize it?It’s caused by a condition called ‘Normalcy Bias’ a mental state people enter when facing a disaster.

It causes people to underestimate both the possibility of a disaster occurring and its possible effects. This often results in situations where people fail to adequately prepare for a disaster, and on a larger scale, the failure of governments to include the populace in its disaster preparations. The assumption that is made in the case of the normalcy bias is that since a disaster never has occurred then it never will occur. It also results in the inability of people to cope with a disaster once it occurs. People with a normalcy bias have difficulties reacting to something they have not experienced before. People also tend to interpret warnings in the most optimistic way possible, seizing on any ambiguities to infer a less serious situation.

A good article on ‘Normalcy Bias’ is on our own ChocChipCookies Blog The Survival Mom:

http://thesurvivalmom.com/2010/12/29/normalcy-bias/

You either prepare and stand on your own beholden to no one or you become dependent on others to provide your basic needs and become their ‘serf’. Me I don’t want to be beholden to anyone for providing what is needed for me and mine. I certainly don’t want to have to kiss some ‘gubberment’ third class bureaucratic to try and coax some help from them, I don’t want some ‘jack booted’ thug herding me in line and telling me where to stand, sit, eat or sleep. And last but not least I don’t want to be shut up in with a bunch of ‘zombies’ and have to worry about not only trying to get basic necessities but having to fight to keep what I manage to get.

Its your choice you can prep or you can stand around on a bridge waiting for FEMA to bring you a bottle of water, a MRE, a warm blanket and a kiss for your boo-boo and maybe you can even get your picture as you stand there on the national news.

For those who are just starting or are old hands at prepping you may find my Preparedness Manual helpful. You can download it at:

http://tomeaker.com/kart/Preparedness1j.pdf
NOTE! THIS IS A FREE DOWNLOAD. I DO NOT MAKE ONE CENT OFF MY PREPAREDNESS MANUAL!

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, a extra couple changes of oil and filters for your car, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.

As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Again I like to recomend FReeper’s ChocoChipCookie Blog The Survival Mom (Please Blog Police let this one slide!) Where you can get lots of useful information like:

And More

“There is no greater disaster than to underestimate danger.
Underestimation can be fatal.”

My only fear is an armed incursion. Although no country has a blue water navy and can move people here en masse, our southern “friends” will be happy to help take back their land. Bammy will be too busy killing Americans to turn our military on anyone. Not too mention the loss of men due to AWOL’ers going home.

It makes me extremely sad to think what kind of world my children and their children are getting.

What will happen? Just look around; it's happening already. Various states are passing nullification bills stating that any federal usurpations of authority beyond that given in the Constitution are null and void and will not only be ignored but will be actively resisted. Yes, many of these bills are 2nd Amendment-specific, but not all, and that won't continue to be the case. The federal government will collapse, but some states will survive just fine. And some will collapse right along with the feds. And you already know how to predict which are which, too.

As for me here in MD (definitely going down, hard and fast), if the collapse holds off for a few years until I can retire the wife and I are looking at Tennessee as a haven. If not, we may be there sooner.

Oh, I didn't mention the various intrastate secessions you'll see, where (off the of of my head) central PA and upstate NY may realize that they have much more in common with each other than either has with NYC, Philly, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo. The realignments won't necessarily be official, but they'll be real, as survivable areas perform triage on the walking dead leftist enclaves.

Except they hitched their wagons to our horses and when our horses go crazy they lose control of their wagons too.

In South Korea, American Soldiers used to hire “Houseboys”. These were young Korean men who would work for the Soldiers cleaning their clothing and other chores. Among the Houseboys were a group of young Korean men known as “Slickyboys”. These young men pretended to be Houseboys, but were in reality thieves out to steal from the American Soldiers. A Slickyboy is someone who pretends to be there to help you, when his real purpose is to rob you. Obama is a Slickyboy. He’s a Slickyboy to the American citizens. He is a Slickyboy to the socialists. He is a Slickyboy to the Moslems.

It baffles me that more “astute” commentators can’t see that obvious fact. Anyone who’s studied Marxism (very few apparently) knows how it goes about destabilizing and destroying existing governments. Obama and his cohort are simply at the “end game” stage of a revolution that began in the 1960s.

We’re being invaded alright, but it’s not the Mexican’s that are the problem, it’s the islamists that nobody is doing anything about because we have a muzzie sympathizing president.

Once those 1st of the month checks aren’t worth the gas it takes to get to the bank to cash them, city Liberals will turn on each other first and burn their own cities down, while rural Conservatives can just pass the popcorn and wait it out.

I almost feel sorry for the Liberals for the horror that they will soon experience, but considering no group & philosophy in history has caused the human race more misery, failure and bloodshed, they will get what they deserve.

When they are huddled all alone, hungry in the dark and the mob shows up outside, and as they are being dragged out into the street maybe, just maybe they will finally grasp what a bunch of fools they have been.

What Will Happen When The Government Collapses?

Disintegration, dissolution of the union. Just look at the empires that fell mostly from pressures within: Rome, Charlemange, China (in the 1800s), British empire, Soviet Union.

Collapse usually results in alternating phases of anarchy and tyranny. Hopefully, we can create islands of stability by encouraging the civil society in red states. However, this will require the passage of state laws that discourage Leftist migration from the blue states. Promote laws that restrict welfare benefits, uphold gun rights, family values, ban/restrict abortion in addition to advancing free-market policies.

Upstate NY takes a bad rap because of NYC, Ithaca, and the cities, but much of Upstate is VERY rural, bordering on desolate and there are more guns and cows than people.

I wouldn't want to be in any of the cities, but here, out in the country, we have more than our share of outspoken, gun toting conservatives. I know of a couple patriot groups which are forming.

Each state is set up like an individual country. If FedGov™ collapses(in my wildest dreams -please let it happen)Your State Governor becomes your President and head of state. Good God have we forgot what a republic is? We cant contemplate life without FedGov™. How pathetic...

Good info on this thread. However, what about the military and the police? Which way will they swing? We already saw what happened in Boston. Will that happen nationwide or will some police units side with the citizens? Who will be friend or foe?

Blood will be running in the streets as people will not be getting their free stuff. Anarchy and rioting everywhere. Greece and Spain are almost there now. My daughter and son-in-law will be vacationioning in Spain next week. I should be getting a first hand report about conditions there.
