Congressional leaders of both parties in the House and Senate are trying to exempt themselves--and their staffs--from Obamacare's health insurance exchanges they will be mandated to join under the law. This would be a devastating indictment of Obamacare and the Democrats who rammed it through. Republicans may give Democrats cover if they join them in agreeing to the exemptions.
According to a (Politico) the "high-level" talks involve Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), the Obama administration and other "top lawmakers," and both sides are "acutely aware of the potential for political fallout from giving carve-outs from the hugely controversial law to 535 lawmakers and thousands of their aides."
Noting the important role that Republican lawmakers have in the talks, a source told Politico that, “Everyone has to hold hands on this and jump, or nothing is going to get done.”
Michael Steel, a Boehner spokesman, told Politico that Boehner's "objective is to spare the entire country from the ravages of the president’s health care law.

Bull$hit. A law that applies to ONLY some of the people is invalid. Obamacare is invalid. It does not include the congressbastards or the whitehousebastards, and it specifically excludes the middle eastern death cult.

Employers offer plans; employees sign up; no need to use an exchange. FEHB offers plan; Congresscritters sign up; no need to use an exchange.
If you caught nancy pelosi this morning on a presser she asked pretty much the same thing about the language that puts the congresscritters and their running dog lackeys in the state exchange operations~since, as she noted, FEHB should be a qualifying plan ~ so she had no idea what the folks mean who wrote the piece of language folks are hanging their political lives on.
So, how is it, if you belong to a qualified plan do you also have to go get more insurance from an exchange?
Seriously? And, as you recall, it was FR doctrine #8 in the book of classified doctrines until recently that Congresscritters had already exempted themselves and their lackeys from all of obamakkkare anyway.
Did we change our doctrine book without issuing the members a revised copy?
Best exemption for anybody is a repeal for everybody.
GOP should run with this. Draft a full repeal, and call it the “Obamacare Exemption Act”. Draw a line in the sand. The only way we’ll exempt you is by repeal.

I hope they “hold hands and jump.” This will be another perfect show to the Obamabots that voted for him about who democrats/liberals really are. We already know (conservatives). It won’t affect our lives if they get exempted, but it sure might cause a stir for some more liberals to have a light go on and understand the hypocrisy of all politicians, ESPECIALLY their beloved liberal elitists.
Who know. If this gets passed, the media may start to report on who else got exemptions (Unions, hollywood, Wall Street, GE, Google, Etc.) Maybe this will open some eyes.
I am for it! I hope they do start exempting themselves. More importantly, I hope the media wakes up and demands answers to why they should be exempted from the law intended for us peasants.
