“It defies common sense that anyone, even a terrorist, can walk into a store in America and buy explosive powders without a background check “
It defies common sense hat liberals wont enforce our borders and allow terrorists to even be in our country.

Reports are that the bombers bought fireworks and harvested the black powder from them. Are we going to put taggants in bottle rockets now? Background check and 7 day waiting period for sparklers?

checks to be run on anyone buying explosive powderThere it is.
A blogger (Reditt) posted a message the day of the bombing (Monday) that said the event was staged. Said - in advance - the perp would be an older teen or 20 year old. The raid to catch him would be held on Friday. The goal was to tax and regulate gun powder (no powder for ammo = no guns).
I'll try to find the original FR thread with a copy.

Isn’t it more sane to follow El Al method?
[Well, I really don’t care being labeled racist, or worse. Not any more.]

Harry, Let us address the fact that the Russians alerted our FBI and CIA to the motivations of the lead bomber first before we start limiting the freedoms of normal citizens. Your precious government failed to protect us due to a hypersensitivity to political correctness and people were maimed and killed as a result. Deal with the root of the problem before we engage in displacement behavior.

Reid introduced the bill, S. 792, for Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.), who has been out sick for much of the year. But in a press statement, Lautenberg said the Boston bombing shows that background checks are needed for explosive materials. The day Lautenberg dies, I will celebrate.

Utter nonsense. Either of the Boston bombers would have passed a background check and if not, they would find some who did and get them to buy whatever they needed. Just like none of the gun control laws proposed and/or being passed (at the state level) would have done anything to prevent the recent mass shootings.
The statists want background checks so they can monitor and record law-abiding citizens. Simple as that. Anything else as a stated purposed is a lie to fool the low-info sheeples.

First ban what is the most dangerous to the citizens. Ban Islam!
It is not a religion but a death cult designed to destroy civilization and have us all live like the camel impregnating scum in the middle east.
Mo-Ham-Mud was lower than the crud on the soles of our shoes and is the product of a tramp mother bedding down with a pig.
This reminds me of a tramp mother bedding down with a Kenyan communist and raising the spawn of that devil coupling with as many communists as she could sleep with.
