Unlike Sandy Hook and gun control, the Tsarnaev case teaches real lessons about immigration.

Barack Obama has a habit of trying to energize his legislative agenda by stoking the fires of emotionally charged current events

I agree. Behind the expensive suit and all the trappings of the White House, he’s really just an abject mediocrity who probably couldn’t hold down a productive job at any time in his life.

This generation of Americans has a propensity to prefer the showy and dramatic — but ultimately irrelevant — response to crises as psychosocial compensation for the fear or inability to embrace a useful, but difficult or controversial, remedy. We don’t dare deal with the felony, so we strut about addressing the misdemeanor. When deranged shooters strike, go after the NRA, but do not get near Hollywood, the mental-health industry, or the illegally obtained handguns of the inner city.

With greatest respect to Dr Hanson, I believe that he is mistaken on this point. 0bama and his statist allies see crises in terms of opportunities to consolidate or increase their power. Going after privately owned guns does; ergo, they go after privately owned guns. As Orwell pointed out, the purpose of power is power.

Oh, bosh. Your envy of his brilliance and commanding personality is transparent.

Didn't you read the newspapers? He won, twice, so okay he cheated all the way from Hawaii to DC, but hey ..... I once saw James Fallows quoting Harvard brainiac professors who were discussing a student who'd been caught cheating. One professor finally struck the gold nugget of truth, that the student proved by cheating and disregarding the rules, that he was the Darwinian winner, the adaptive organism that wouldn't let society's phony little rules stop him. That is true intelligence, the unfolding and manifestation of drive and will to win. Of such are the true masters of the universe made!

So Obama, by cheating and bullying and arranging for others to carry him and carry his water, shows himself to be the true, deserving master intelligence that the Peepul recognized and accepted as their anointed David in 2008.

Who are you to complain?

To quote another famous leader, "you got NUthinnnnn!!!"

Ahem.

This would be true only if the cheater had succeeded in his cheating and not been caught.

However since he had failed and been caught he demonstrated that not only was he unfit for leadership but that in the fact that he had demonstrated that he was unwilling to follow the rules he was unfit for membership of the proletariat.

There for having demonstrated that he was unfit to any place in society he should be summarily executed.

In short, if a Tamerlan Tsarnaev cannot be deported, then perhaps no resident alien can be under any circumstances.
Unless - it is claimed by Holder,“anchor" baby, or no - the alien in question is a European who is too much like a Tennessee Christian to suit the German government.

Incidentally, that case was scheduled to be heard in court today, IIRC.

The Dems and the Prez are framing artists: They know how to use the language to shame their opponents and make themselves look oh-so caring and serious.

That's why bills have titles like the “Violence Against Women Act” and the “Affordable Health Care Act.” It's all manipulation of the public and a lazy press and an attempt to shame opponents of these laws. And the laws themselves sometimes don't matter, They're just political props invented to cast political enemies in an unfavorable light....campaigning by other means.

If Boehner had a brain, he'd adopt the NRA recommendations, and title it the “Defending Schoolchildren Act.” Let the Dems vote against defending schoolchildren.

But neither Boehner nor the Republican leadership generally have the sense to even understand this.

Why isn't anyone introducing a “Securing the Border Amendment” that would put the fence first. Instead the GOP is a Century behind the Dems, still naming bills after themselves or colleagues so they can feel important.

Correction: he did work at a Baskin-Robbins one summer.
