There's a big problem with that... it deprives others of the ownership they deserve: like the Supreme Court and the Congress.
I believe this was a filibuster of the motion to proceed to debate.
There will have to be another cloture vote to end debate.
No. The Senate RINO's want to disarm the American public as much as their Democrat pals.
This process started slowly when they surrendered their (our) power to regulate the value of money in 1913. But the last time Congress acted to guard its (our) powers was in the 1970s. Since then, it's been increasingly a charade to collect bribes and live the good life, increasingly invulnerable to being kicked out. They don't care who exactly makes decisions - POTUS, Supreme Court, Oprah or Ellen, no matter - as long as it's not them.
We've been following an illusion for almost 50 years now, and it's time we accept the truth - the Republic is overthrown, we have a junta in place which will prove most difficult to remove, now that the Commander-in-Chief knows what he wants and is clear about what he has to do to get it.
Of course, the Senate can't really pass legislation that hasn't been written yet - but that's just what they are about to do - for the children.
And if you think the House will stand up to the infotainment complex, which will be deployed in depth against the evil Republicans - if you believe that, you haven't been paying attention.
“We have to pass it so we can know what’s in it... “
Like a stool sample.
I think they have to have a cloture vote to end debate, as well.
I so despise these evil @%%&*()_rds!
That really sounds like the responsible thing to do.
Especially for RHINOs. Election time rolls around and they can cry foul and use the Rhetoric of :
“It was goin to pass anyway so we just moved it off the table so we could involve the Senate in more pressing issues, such as giving rights and freedoms to 11 million oppressed Undocumented Felons. Oops strike that,That: Er uh! Brothers from South of an Imaginary border that
Oppresses ManKind and you know need to have the same rights and Freedoms of their fellow Man in their Adopted Country!”
16 Republican Traitors who voted with Democrats to proceed:
Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.);
Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.);
Richard Burr (R-N.C.);
Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.);
Tom Coburn (R-Okla.);
Susan Collins (R-Maine);
Bob Corker (R-Tenn.);
Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.);
Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.);
Dean Heller (R-Nev.);
John Hoeven (R-N.D.);
Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.);
Mark Kirk (R-Ill.);
John McCain (R-Ariz.);
Patrick Toomey (R-Pa.);
Roger Wicker (R-Miss.)
ALL the LIEberal Democrats who voted for it are Traitors!
Two LIEbeal Democrats voted “Nay,” but they are up for re-election in 2014 and needed political cover. They will probably vote “Aye” with their Rat brethren/sisteren on the final bill.
A stunning defeat for FReedom and Liberty!
Not what I heard, but I will check it out. Tnx.
Because they're RAT BASTARD SOCIALIST-FASCIST TREASONOUS TRAITORS who hate America, liberty, freedom AND our U.S. Constitution, and are hell bent on turning Amerika into a socialist hell-hole ruled over by totalitarian elitists.
They don’t care and they use it for their own selfish purposes.
I belive you are correct. I stand corrected if they adopt any amendments. Once amendmens are adopted, it is no longer the original bill and becomes subject to cloture vote.
Just like what Cuomo did in New York.
The end result will be more tyranny and more cases sent to the SCOTUS; more money and time wasted and more Americans oppressed by these would-be dictators of the Left.
The old line GOP doesn’t want the common people to have guns. None of the elite do. They only want their guards to be armed.
Funny thing is history has some eather interesting examples of when the guards stop guarding and start taking control.
What purpose is an international background check? It simply gets more gunowners’ names on the list.
Checks on individuals selling at gun shows? Who’s going to pay for that? Go out to the parking lot and buy one.
I think it only needs 50 votes to pass now??
Is that right?
Maybe, but it still has to go to the Congress. It’s not over yet.
