If true then why did 68 senators vote for it?

An Amendment that works no matter what’s in the bill:
“Any background checks, documentation, restrictions, waiting periods, or any other restrictions of this legislation on a citizen’s G-d-given Second Amendment Rights must be equally applied to each citizen’s right to VOTE and SPEAK.”

roostersucking scumbag commie enemies of America.
Almost 70% of the Senate are traitors and should be tried as such.
As a man thinketh, so IS he.
Just ask ANYone ever convicted of a crime on circumstantial eveidence .. no proof .. but the court decides .. we know what you're thinking.
THAT, I believe is some sort of precedent.

This was a Republican sell out from the Get-Go.
They are pushing this country towards civil war, they know it, and they want the people disarmed before the SHTF.
Anyone that thinks I’m paranoid is in for a real shock.

the senate is power hungry and need to be stopped - not only do they not have a bill but even if they have a bill, they do not have the power to alter the Bill of Rights with 2/3 majority - they need 2/3 in the senate, the house and - 2/3 of the states must ratify it.
this is insane

It really hurts me to say this but I have more regards and respect, well just a teeny-tiny bit, for child molesters and robbers than I have for these politicians that sold us out. Still, no matter what, the whole lot deserve to be in prison. Unless Toomey has a lot of ‘splaining to do, all I can say is we got punk’d.

This was, I believe, for two purposes. 1) to lower the bar for building the bill, as all amendments now can pass on simple (democrat) majorities. 2) this was also intended to set up the battlefield for 2014, get as much bad př for republicans as possible by pitting them as the evil meanies againstvthe children. I also wonder if the newtown parent filibuster of the filibuster may have looked like such a pr nightmare they decided against it. The dems are counting heavily on the propaganda value of the debates to make it very difficult to reject the final bill, which still requires 60 votes, as I recall. So its not by any means over, but it gets messier from here, even if we win.
To: Nachum
The Senate RINO’s have decided that they are tired of looking bad on CNN, so they are just in hurry to get the bill passed so the heat will shift to Boehner and the house. (Although I don't think it can pass the house, considering only 2 Republicans have voiced support and 30 red state democrats are saying they oppose it.) What we will be hearing for the next year from Obama and the liberal media is how “John Boeher’s Republican’s” killed a “common sense” bill that passed with bipartisan support in the Senate.

Big Deal, Cloture is not passing anything, it’s just agreeing to debate and vote on a proposed law. That and there is no constitution issues either. Filibusters and Clotures rules are created and adhered to at the whim and sole encumbrance of the Senate.
That aside, I would rather it was Filibustered.
