Rush Limbaugh on gay marriage: “This issue is lost” [ What othre issue does Rush concede ?]

Rush claims the battle was lost when conservatives started modifying the word “marriage” (“traditional marriage,” “straight marriage”) to describe the institution rather than insisting that the word itself necessarily refers to traditional/straight relationships and therefore doesn’t require modification.

How would you have enforced that message discipline against the left, though? Their 40 percent of the country would have been calling it “gay marriage” no matter what.

The problem is that, just like Obama guard dog Fx News, Obama guard dog Lamebaugh doesn’t include the Founding States’ division of federal and state government powers in his public policy discussions. Otherwise patriots would know that the Founding States made the 10th Amendment to clarify that the Constitution’s silence about things like marriage means that marriage is a unique state power issue.

Patriots need to get themselves up to speed on the Constitution and its history and then question why they put their faith into so-called conservative commentators like Fx News and Lamebaugh.

Is immigration control lost? Deficit Spending lost? Is Rush just in it for the cash now?

Do you ever actually listen to him, or did your lobotomy make it impossible for you to do anything besides knee-jerk react to state-controlled media inflammatory headlines?

He did a lot of damage in the way that he has handled this issue like he handled the issue with the college student. It’s been reported on local news that Rush Limbaugh says there’s no need to challenge the gay marriage issue, it’s over. He didn’t think this through enough. It gives those who are on the edge or a the push to give up, or to just not want to try any further and fight on. He needs to turn this around and make the position clearer for traditional marriage and for the traditional supporters to fight on. I could not believe he did this. He gave the left so much. He’s been slipping here lately. I like Rush though he has been changing the past few years.

Hush Bimbo just wants us all to believe the issue is lost so we stop talking about it and bugging the elites about it.

Hush Bimbo sold out a long time ago.

I agree the issue is lost....as soon as the Republicans began to yield. ....even Newt got on board!

There is going to be homosexual marriages in the end....how could it go any other way? The general public is sold on whatever nonesense they are fed.

I have listened enough to Rush. We don’t need to go to drink our knowledge of conservatism from these fountains of wisdom. The string us along and when push comes to shove they say it’s all a done deal: gay marriage; immigration; Obamacare, and so on. Enough is enough.

I see there is no reasoning with you. If you had heard Rush’s commentary on this, you would understand.

“The media said Rush said”

We can only win by taking down the mainstream media. To take down/abandon Rush as you are doing is helping them win.

I am being truthful to myself. He went on and on.

He motivated the enemy. Big mistake to do.

Not lost.
Someday society will rediscover the fact that “breeders” are different from every other permutation of “couple”, and need be treated different to improve society.

I don’t support rush’s sponsors to have rush pump sugar up my butt. I support them for the truth.

It’s the truth. The unthoughtfully considered rewrite of “marriage” after a few thousand years is a fait accompli. And rush is right: they brought it about by controlling the dialogue and manipulating emotion.

Most straight people, want their gay friends and family members to have healthy, happy lives. Most conservatives appreciate freedom for all to live the life of their dreams.

But we did not get out in front of the media and the low info voters and define and explain freedom for homosexuals under the constitution and fight for their right to live as they chose while equally fighting for the rights of the religious to live as they chose, both sides stopping at the point where their happiness impedes the other’s.

In some ways it is the fault of the religious. They spent so much time worrying about other people’s sins. The Bible warns against it. Just because you wear a necklace calling yourself a Christian or Jew doesn’t mean you don’t sin. You do. In the public discourse, focus only on your OWN sins. You are no cleaner than most others on the planet.

The problem was gays wanting their significant other to have the same rights and responsibilities as your significant other. That is a legal problem and we could have stepped up to the plate and solved it. We could have defined the new union as anything we wanted. We could have fought for it and pushed it and prevented what is now happening. We could have shown compassion for gays as human beings and tried to help. Jesus would have. I’m not Christian but even I know Jesus ignored people’s sins and tried to serve them.

Either you really believe in the Constitution or the Bible and the big concepts of brotherly love and true freedom or you don’t.

your comments protest your contention.....syllable by syllable....digging your hole deeper. Just say you don’t listen, and quit pretending to have any idea of what goes on with the show. Everyone who listens with some regularity can see right through it.

That is absurd. You obviously have no independence and can’t imagine that anyone does.

To everyone on this thread who is say inking they are “now done with Rush,” you are thinking with your emotions like a liberal. Those of us who were listening that day know that rush wasn’t declaring the issue dead. He was declaring the battle to prevent “gay marriage” LOST. The scoreboard says Libs 314 Cons 2. It’s a blowout and rush called it. Anyone could call it.

Don’t shoot the messenger.

The issues aren’t lost. It’s the country that’s lost. They’ll get what they wished for and wish that they hadn’t. After it’s all over, the survivors will reverse these stupid moves and rebuild, and write the history of this era with the benefit of hindsight.

You nailed it. It should have been an eye-opener when Rush who brands himself as a conservative icon calls upon the world’s most notorious fag to perform at his wedding. Rush has begun to seriously believe that we are all stupid dittoheads and drink from his fountain of conservative thinking. Serious conservative don’t say that gay marriage and immigration are done deals and who then stop excoriating Republicans who support these deals.
No more O’Reilly, No more Rush.

I’ve noticed the same thing over the years. I sometimes wonder when he tells conservatives liberals think we are all “hay seed hicks with gun racks in the back”(nearly a direct quote) if that’s precisely what he himself is thinking as much as them.

Good point.

In those political forums in which I participate, I try to make it clear that I remain unimpressed by mere attitudinizing.. And that includes the use of any words that end with the suffix, "-phobe" (such as homophobe), as well as any words that end with the suffix, "-monger" (such as warmonger, hatemonger, or fearmonger.

Once others understand that one is simply not intimidated by their opprobrium, most will cease attempting it...
