Anyone who watched Mitt and Ann Romney being interviewed on Chris Wallaces Sunday morning show and didnt regret that they arent ensconced in the White House, instead of the Obamas, has a very weak grasp on reality. When even Bill OReilly, who was busy telling his viewers just a few short months ago that Barack Obama was a nice guy and didnt have a socialist bone in his body, has finally seen the light, I say that any Republican who sat home last November because he didnt think Romney was conservative enough or because he couldnt bring himself to vote for a Mormon, should take himself out behind the woodshed and give himself a good tanning.
When the presidential debates were taking place and I warned Romney to keep his eyes open for incoming drones, I thought I was kidding. Recent developments involving Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Attorney General Eric Holder, suggest otherwise. Those of us who have been paying close attention know how much Obama hates being thwarted, so perhaps Romney was lucky he lost the election, after all.
Recently, I wondered why Democratic senators even bothered showing up for work when they allow Harry Reid to make every single decision for them. Why dont they just sign over their proxies to him so they can stay home with the wife and kids? I had the same thought recently when I learned that the speaker of the Colorado legislature, a creep named Mark Ferrandino, refuses to allow his colleagues to vote on Jessicas Law, which ensures long prison sentences for people convicted of raping a child. In spite of Ferrandinos insistence that Colorado already has tough sentencing guidelines for such crimes, Fox News managed to come up with a number of cases in which child rapists have gotten off with one and two year sentences.
Instead of protecting Colorados children, Ferrandino spends his time campaigning for same-sex marriages and the legalization of marijuana.
For my own part, I think Jessicas Law is too lenient. If theres a crime that screams for capital punishment, Id say this is it. No insufferable defense attorney can ever argue that his client destroyed a child and a childs family because he was driven to it by poverty or acted in self-defense. It is an act of absolute evil, and any society that believes it is showing itself to be civilized by doling out anything less than a life sentence is sadly, even tragically, mistaken.
Speaking of which, have you ever noticed that liberals, who believe that abortions should be performed for any reason under the sun on anybody of any age, are forever insisting that whether its raising taxes to pay for foolishness like Operation Head Start or increasing outlandish salaries and pensions for teachers, its being done for the children? Children, these hypocrites incessantly parrot, remain our most precious resource. It would make as much sense for these arrogant bastards to argue that trees and flowers are proof of Gods existence, but the seeds from which they sprout are worthless trash.
Another group of people who mean everything to liberals are The Poor. Because one of the surest ways to remain poor and voting the straight Democratic ticket in America is to remain uneducated, it figures that Democrats devote most of their waking hours to ensuring that poor people remain that way. Thats why left-wingers are always prepared to ballyhoo all those lousy public schools with their inept teachers and administrators, who devote more time to demonstrating the proper use of condoms and suspending little kids for pointing their fingers at someone than they do to teaching reading, writing and math. Liberals have no reason to motivate people to achieve and succeed, which might very well result in their becoming Republicans. They would much rather encourage failure by coming up with new goodies to hand out to those individuals residing under that mysterious demarcation known as the poverty line.
What makes that line so illusionary is that most of the people allegedly lurking beneath it somehow manage to own color TVs, air conditioners, cell phones, automobiles, refrigerators, hand guns and fully-stocked liquor cabinets.
The fact is poor is merely a relative term. Some of us are richer than others and some of us are not, just as some of us are taller or shorter than others. Poor Americans would be middle class or even well-to-do in many, if not most, parts of the world. To believe that through the redistribution of wealth, one can do away with poor people is such an idiotic notion that you would have to be a Marxist zombie to believe it.
You might as well say that youre going to do away with dumb people through the redistribution of brains or eliminate short people through the redistribution of height.
Those, at least, could very well be noble enterprises. But only a fool would confuse being poor with being deserving. In this marvelous country, with all the advantages it offers to everyone, regardless of race, gender or national origin, poverty is far more often a sign of sloth and/or dumb choices involving sex, booze and drugs, than of any of the societal sins a liberal would blame it on.
I realize that the Bible claims that the Meek, which could be taken to mean poor people, shall inherit the earth. But it doesnt state how much earth. I have always taken it to mean a plot measuring roughly six feet by three feet.
Unlike Obama, I dont believe it means poor folks are entitled to everything their neighbors have. Otherwise, as I see it, coveting would be the equivalent of jay-walking, and wed only have nine Commandments.

I know that Obama said that his primary concerns for his second term were major immigration reform and gun control. Its probably just a coincidence, but roughly 80 years ago, Adolf Hitler also had to deal with those two issues. And in 1935, he got to brag For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead. And once he got guns out of the hands of civilians, he got busy with immigration reform, which pretty much consisted in shipping German Jews, priests, Gypsies and invalids, off to Poland in box cars.
But, now, thanks to sequestration, he has to put those plans on the backburner so he can terrify Americans into believing that a tiny reduction in rising expenditures will lengthen the lines at airports, reduce the ranks of air traffic controllers, and turn teachers, cops and firemen, into sidewalk apple vendors.
I used to think I was a fairly cynical character, but that was before Obama came on the scene. Compared to this Chicago thug, with his obvious contempt for everyone who isnt Obama and his conviction that he can feed swill to the American people and convince them its sirloin, Im a mere babe in the woods.
Still, when even the NY Times took him to task and the Washington Post started bestowing Pinocchios on him and his puppets, Obama had to realize that he had badly misplayed his attempt to make political hay out of this particular crisis.
What it led many of us to realize is that if only we had a free (from left-wing bias) press in America, it would matter far less than it does whose rump was planted in the Oval Office.
Speaking of rumps, I used to wonder why Clark Kent never got canned by the Daily Planet. After all, he was never around to cover any of Supermans headline-grabbing exploits. The same question comes to mind when I see the members of the White House Press Corps sitting politely, scribbling down Jay Carneys lies, like a bunch of overpaid stenographers.
I mean, the nation is over $16 trillion in debt, Obama says we dont have a spending problem, and those oafs who brag about speaking truth to power, dont even give him a horse laugh? You could dismiss them as pimps, but at least pimps dont pretend to be something they arent or to be peddling something theyre not.
For that matter, when the other 54 Senate Democrats demur to Harry Reids wishes as to how to vote and even which pieces of legislation he will permit them to vote on, I cant help wondering why they dont all have those unnaturally high voices one generally associates with harem guards.
When Obama boasted that he was a skeet shooter, its possible that he wasnt actually lying. After spending the last five years watching the men and women of the media echoing his every word, he may simply have confused shooting skeet with shooting fish in a barrel or blasting holes in sitting ducks.
As for those on the other side of the aisle, I know its fashionable, even in some conservative circles, to claim that Republicans dont have a message, but with a corrupt media ignoring their message or lying about it, its no wonder that even some Republicans are hopelessly befuddled. Lets face it, if it werent for Fox News, Benghazi would be nothing more than an eight-letter answer in a crossword puzzle.
Finally, little seven-year-old Josh Welch was eating a Pop-Tart in his Baltimore grammar school when his teacher, who no doubt believes she is underpaid, decided he was shaping it into a gun. This led to his being suspended for two days. Josh explained I just kept biting it and tore off the top, trying to shape it into a mountain.
The school sent out a letter to all the parents, explaining why they thought it was a threat, stating, A student used food to make an inappropriate gesture.
When I read that, I made what I regarded as an appropriate gesture in the general direction of Baltimore. At the very least, the school authorities should learn the difference between a gun, a mountain and a gesture, however inappropriate.
Im just wondering if it escaped everyones attention, as it had mine until eagle-eyed Arizonan Don Melquist pointed out to me that every single kid who has been suspended over the past several months has looked like one of those freckle-faced tykes who was always popping up in Norman Rockwell paintings.
How is it that its never a black or Hispanic tot? Is it that they are carrying actual guns and its a lot safer for craven school administrators to discipline kids packing Pop-Tarts? Or is it that political correctness, as usual, trumps every other consideration, including commonsense and sanity?
All in all, I figure little Josh was just lucky he and his folks dont live in New York City. For simply daring to bring a loaded Pop-Tart to school, Nanny Bloomberg would have had him doing hard time in Sing Sing.
Yet another postmortem of 2012? Who is doing what about preventing the next Bob McRomney?
Mr. RomneyCARE attacked Gov. Palin during the 2008
election for Obama, and then created obamaCARE/RomneyCARE.
Mr. RomneyCARE is the reason Obama is pRes_ _ent and the
RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE is everywhere.
They probably need strict gun control out there as it stands.
I voted for Romney. I didn’t like it, but I voted for him.
I have said here in Free Republic many times that we don’t need the Congress, since they all do what they are told and vote in lockstep. Might as well just elect a Majority leader of each side and fire the rest.Lately I wonder why we pay a political Supreme Court. Why do we have a Treasury Department when the Federal Reserve runs the Treasury? An Energy Department when the EPA runs Energy, An Education Department when Michelle Obama is in charge of that.
That's about half of FR.
BTW, I don't give damn what names you call me. If you stayed away from Romney then damn you to hell for allowing Obama a second term.
Does someone have that quote that ends something like this: (paraphrase) "... let us forget your name". It's about capitulation and let those who capitulated be damned.
Romney-Ryan was still a far, far, far better choice than what we have now, knowing full well what 0scumbag told us he was going to do “to fundamentally transform America”, given his marxist/socialist/racist background.
Yeah, I held my nose and voted for Dole, McLettuce, too, but Romney-Ryan “was what was for dinner”.
Now, look at us. What’s 0scumbag’s done is probably irreversible, and the damage to come is yet untold and unknown. Chances are, we’ll never recover from it.
Make no mistake about it: I feel the same you did, but not voting for Romney-Ryan was a direct vote for 0scumbag. 6 millio of “the base” stayed home, and if they’d have voted, 0scumbag would be unemployed and gone, now.
JMO., given his marxist/socialist/racist background.
Yeah, I held my nose and voted for Dole, McLettuce, too, but Romney-Ryan
Amen. This past election featured what was arguably the best ticket the GOP has ever fielded vs. the worst ticket the dems ever have. I mean, you might claim you liked Ike better than you do Mitt Romney, but the other guy on that ticket was Dick Nixon...
I didn't vote for him, I voted for his wife. I am so sick of being told what to eat, to get of my arse, no FLOTUS you get off yours thank you very much. We would have got none of that from Ann...
What is sad is the GOP/RNC has now had 2 elections cycles where I have had to justify why I am pulling the lever for him by some other means, last time I voted for Sarah.
No third time for me with this madness....
The disparity isn’t as big as everyone claims it is (between 2008 and 2012 turnout). 2012 turnout for Romney was roughly 800K less than turnout for McCain in 2008. The main reason McCain was able to get better turnout was because of the energy Sarah drove into the campaign.
Diff (2008 - 2012)
Rep (McCain, Romney): 800,339
A lot more people that voted Dem in 2008 did not show up in that camp this last general election vs. those that supposedly tipped the scales for Obama by not showing up on the R side.
No more complicated than that.
Once the USD is dead, he and his fellow billionaire Marxist travelers can create the global totalitarian Utopia of their dreams.
Anyone who would want to run for President after Dudley Dildo Obama finishes with the country is obviously too stupid to be a President.
The debt will be enormous, the military will be too busy Homosexually fornicating to fight, the 401K’s and our savings accounts will have been robbed , and the Gubmint will have destroyed all of our guns.
Abortion...it's for the children.
Interesting. I had a ballot with more than two parties under the PRESIDENT heading; seems to me you’re saying party loyalty is what it’s all about?
Sorry, but I voted for someone who would follow the Constitution, not give it lip service. My vote does not belong to a brand, and I’ve ‘left the plantation’ many a moon ago.
2012 is over, so there’s no need to re-hash how, in your opinion, lib. Mitt (along w/ the current House setup) was any better than what we got now. It sure as hell seems the House alone is bending over for the DEMs, no telling the rubber stamping that would have gone on if ‘their boy’ was in the W.H.
No matter what we think of Romney, he clearly would have been a better president than Obama. 2012 should have been a “stop Obama” election. Even if you hated Romney, you should have voted for him to stop Obama. But apparently a lot of people in this country want the government to give them free stuff and think that “the rich” can pay for it all if they just paid their “fair share” of taxes.
A solution that will never occur to the Carl Roves, Sean Hannitys, Ann Coulters and others of the G.O.P.
Thanks a whole bunch to the "Romney's a filthy Commie atheist" crowd.
Mr. RomneyCARE is the reason Obama is pRes_ _ent and the RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE is everywhere.
The single most odious issue, the most hated by a majority of both parties and the republican candidate is muted by the fact of Romneycare, which policy formed the very core of obamacare.
Romney claimed only that he would get rid of obamacare without much explanation of how he would do it and he was rightfully pounded for that by the rats because he instituted it in his own state. Romney was the most liberal and absolute worst candidate ever put forward by the republican party period.
Can't wait to see which liberal will be pushed next time by the likes of Hannity, Rove, Coulter, et al. those people have huge influence among the "low info" republican voters. Yes, low info voters exist in the republican party too. I have relatives who fall into that catergory.
This past election featured what was arguably the best ticket the GOP has ever fielded vs. the worst ticket the dems ever have. I mean, you might claim you liked Ike better than you do Mitt Romney, but the other guy on that ticket was Dick Nixon...
Are you kidding? The best ticket? Best?
Since when? Since the last loser RINO? Or the one before that?
As a conservative, I'm not a W fan. He was a big government republican, which is little more than a democrat at a 10% discount. However, his was a better ticket. After all, HE WON.
I'll take a guy who gets hammered for trying to privatize social security over a guy who's signature piece of legislation was the model for Obamacare any day of the week.
But most of all, how can anyone overlook Reagan? Next to George Washington and Calvin Coolidge, he is the greatest president ever.
To paraphrase Chinas opinion today on Apple:
B. Hussein Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, is arrogant, does not care about Americans, and needs more supervision.
Arguably Ike and Nixon were a golden age, as was Reagan/Bush.
