Many Christians doubt David Camerons sincerity in pledging to protect their freedoms, former Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey says today.
In an article for the Daily Mail, Lord Carey squarely accuses ministers of aiding and abetting discrimination against Christians.
He says he believes there is an aggressive secularist and relativist approach behind the Government plans to legalize gay marriage, and says the Prime Minister has done more than any other recent political leader to feed Christian anxieties.

Very shocking, though not surprising.
Christians are a persecuted minority in Europe, and they’re becoming so here as well. There are some Arab countries where they’re afforded more respect. Jordan for example.
I think the statements are true, but I am astonished that Carey said so.
Carey is rather like some ex-Presidents, ex-Prime Ministers and the like (naming no names) - he’s made a new career out of being an ex-Archbishop, in which he’s rather more impressive than he ever was in office.
