Malibu home of Ivory Coast dictator's son.

The oil-rich Ivory Coast has one of the worst human rights records in Africa and whose rulers are accused of funneling millions of dollars into their own pockets. But now it looks like the son of the dictator----Teodoro---whose world—comprised yachts, Bugattis, and Michael Jackson memorabilia—could come crashing down, according to Foreign Policy (via Curbed).

Foreign Policy's Ken Silverstein reported that after a four-year investigation into alleged extortion and laundering of $100 million in the US and "theft of public funds, or other corrupt conduct" back at home, the Justice Department has filed notice of a lawsuit involving the possible seizure of Tedoro's California mansion, and other assets.

And French investigators just seized millions of dollars' worth of his sports cars, while the Spanish government is investigating the entire Obiang clan. Teodoro reportedly hasn't spent much time stateside recently, in part thanks to various legal actions against him.

Just a peek inside the insane world of Teodoro---he first came to the U.S. to attend Pepperdine University in Malibu. While tuition cost just $3,400, he managed to blow through $50,000 in the first five months before dropping out. Source: Business insier--LA Weekly.

Teodoro is listed as the owner of this $35 million mansion on the Malibu coast, which he paid for in cash. It was the most expensive home sold in California in 2006, and has a tennis court, swimming pool and 4-hole golf course. Teodoro's on the government payroll as minister of agriculture and forestry, and supposedly makes just $5,000 per month. But his home contains $60,000 worth of rugs, a $58,000 home theater and a $1,734 pair of wine glasses.

Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo is the President of Equatorial Guinea, not Ivory Coast. He’s been dictator since a military coup in 1979. The French just ousted the President of Cote D’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) in 2011 following a disputed election. They put the Muslim in charge.

I can’t stomach him any more. I just wish that the evil he has wrought on this nation comes back around to him in spades.

My city was proposing a golden parachute of $500,000 for the City Manager to leave his job 5 weeks early, on the same day it took me 50 seconds to get an answer at 911.

Gotta love politicians priorities

The “New” Bay Bridge in San Francisco was built with Chinese engineers-—Chinese steel—and alot of Chinese workers.

Now—SURPRISE!!!!

The official opening is yet to happen and they have found 41 bolts over 17 FEET long which have SNAPPED.

The ‘repair’ of same will be in the area of $5 million alone, and nothing has been started yet.\

I think there are almost 300 of such bolts on this bridge!!!

Just think-—YOU could be driving over this bridge in the future when an earthquake hits!!!

Why wasn’t AMERICAN steel & AMERICAN engineering done???

Diane Feinstein should have some answers.

I wouldn’t worry about an invading army. An ocupaying would take far too much in the way of foreign resources, and unite far too many of an armed population to be worth while.

In the end a foreign invader would at best be able to install a puppet government run by Americans that favor them, which is really little different than what we currently have in the grand scheme of things.

The more immediate problem of a panic and starving urban population with no idea whatsoever as to how to survive without their gadgets.

Should demand a bit more attention, particualry the segment of that population who may out of a sense of entitlement seek to organised themselves in protest of other people not coming in to solve their problems for them.(remember Katrina?)

In a disaster from the victims point of view all information and resources are local. Theses people more than likely will have no idea why their electronics are not working and no way to find out.

Outside of a town near me is a sign that looks just like this. It has hung there for three years.

No one in town can tell you what (if anything) was "paid for" by the stimulus money grab, and not one lick of work has been performed on that road in the three years since it went up.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon is furloughing 750,000 workers because it cannot make payroll due to a massive cut to its Operations and Maintenance budget halfway through a fiscal year due to the Sequester - but Obama wants to dole out Billions more in "stimulus."

Where are the Republican members of Congress? I have never, ever seen such poor leadership (from either party) in Washington in my lifetime. And that is saying something.

” ‘Infrastructure’ is code for ‘Unions’ “

Obama tried this when he wanted states to hire thousands more teachers a few years back; the Fed would pay for their first year’s salary, then the taxpayers would be stuck with the bill for the rest of their natural lives (and the Dems would have the wealth transfer from taxpayers through the teachers’ unions to the Dem coffers). NJ didn’t bite; the education industry is the primary reason companies and taxpayers that are able are fleeing the state in droves (costing us a lot of jobs and an electoral vote).

Since then we’ve had thousands of cops, teachers, and firemen laid off; we simply can’t afford them. Those that are still working are our upper middle class; those that aren’t have to leave because they have no marketable job skills and turnover is far too low to sit around waiting. I personally know a few recent grads that wanted to get in on the education industry gravy train here in NJ; I have no sympathy for them. They’re working in daycare centers and such (at a fraction of what they’d earn as public school teachers, with little or no benefits).

The unions ruined most of the American steel business.

They should cut regulatory, domestic surveillance, public education and social programs, they won’t.

Logic defied

There are more people on Welfare in Illinois than there are people working.

Chicago pays the highest wages to teachers than anywhere else in the U.S. averaging $110,000/year. Their pensions average 80-90% of their income. State pension fund $78 Billion in debt, worst in country.
Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country.
Wow, are Illinois and Chicago great or what?

Be sure to read till the end. I’ve never heard it explained better.

Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago? Body count: In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago. 221 killed in Iraq AND Chicago has one of the strictest gun laws in the entire US.

Here’s the Chicago chain of command:

President: Barack Hussein Obama
Senator: Dick Durbin
House Representative: Jesse Jackson Jr.
Governor: Pat Quinn
House leader: Mike Madigan
Atty. Gen.: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike)
Mayor: Rahm Emanuel
The leadership in Illinois - all Democrats.

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago. Of course, they’re all blaming each other. Can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any!

Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country.

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois. And he is going to ‘fix’ Washington politics for us???

George Ryan is no longer Governor, he is in the big house. Of course he was replaced by Rob Blajegovitch who is...that’s right, also in the big house. And Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned a couple of weeks ago. That is because he is fighting being sent to...that’s right, the big house.

The Land of Lincoln, where our governors make our license plates.

But you know what?

As long as they keep providing entitlements to the population of Chicago, nothing is going to change, except the state will go broke before the country does.

“Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian.”
