Global warming: if only we'd listened to the experts, eh?
Telegraph (UK) ^ | March 25th, 2013 | James Delingpole

Posted on 03/28/2013 8:30:08 PM PDT by neverdem

Sir John Beddington, the government's retiring Chief Scientist has been doing the media rounds today, telling anyone who'll listen how "Climate Change" is still a serious problem about which we should all worry greatly. Has he looked out of the window recently?

Looking out of my window just now, I noticed that the Northamptonshire landscape was completely blanketed in Dr David Viner. Just like it was yesterday. And the day before that, when we rescued two orphaned lambs from the frozen fields. Which isn't something you normally expect in March, is it?

I'm sure I know what Beddington would say in reply to this. "Weather is not climate." No, indeed. But it's an argument which would surely carry a lot more weight if Beddington and his alarmist brethren hadn't spent most of the Nineties and Noughties citing the hot summers and mild winters as evidence of man-made global warming. Later, as we know, they amended their scare-phrase to the more inclusive "climate change". Then...

--snip--

This is what I find so puzzling about Beddington's media circus antics today. If I were in his shoes, if I'd been involved in promulgating a disgraceful scam whereby the global depression was prolonged and deepened, where thousands of people died in artificially induced fuel poverty, where some of the world's most beautiful scenery had been ravaged with wind turbines and solar panels and I had then been found out by events, the very last thing I'd be doing was traipsing round the BBC studios crowing about my achievements. What I'd actually be doing is retiring to my study with a bottle of whisky and my trusty service pistol, there to do the only proper and decent thing a chap should do when he has brought shame on himself and caused untold suffering to millions.

The Left calls it science when it’s clearly politics to them. Do they bother trying to convince you with evidence, or do they just prattle on about “consensus”? When has consensus ever been a part of the scientific method? And of course, that consensus doesn’t include the scientists who deny AGW, so naturally it’s a 100% consensus.

I actually listened to these glow-bull warming experts...and concluded they are full of obama.

Just picking up on the author's comment about wind turbines blighting the landscape, that is how I felt when seeing huge expanses of southern Illinois and Indiana, and the hills of Wisconsin choked with those things. When you start to think about the expense, miles of underground cable, transfer switches, synchronizers, maintenance - what a waste.

The warmists have an excuse for everything - saw some guy on the weather channel the other day actually saying that the very cool March we’ve had in the east this year - coolest in decades apparently - was really proof of global warming, because the ice cap up north, melted by the warmer temperatures, releaased so much cool air that it set up a blocking front which kept the cold air brought south from the arctic by the jet stream from moving on out to sea - I wonder if these people know how stupid they sound making such claims......

Where the f*** is this global warming? If you have to shovel snow instead of picking coconuts up off of your front yard, there is no global warming. This scam is way past being worn out. Believe in global warming? Let’s ship your stupid liberal ass to the arctic for a hard dose of not-global-warming reality.

Here is another counter-intuitive scenario. Arctic ice melts, cold water stops dropping down to bottom of North Atlantic, North Atlantic Deep Water circulation slows down, Gulf Stream slows down, eventually stops altogether. Great Britain and Europe begin to experience extreme cooling, and another ice age?

Clearly, we need to do something about "global warming", and fast!

Climatologists are pessimistic that political leaders will take any positive action to compensate for the climatic change, or even to allay its effects. They concede that some of the more spectacular solutions proposed, such as melting the Arctic ice cap by covering it with black soot or diverting arctic rivers, might create problems far greater than those they solve... The longer the planners delay, the more difficult will they find it to cope with climatic change once the results become grim reality.

Meet the new alarmists, same as the old alarmists.

Which was of course the basis for the movie and book, The Day After Tomorrow. Fortunately the Gulf stream is not actually slowing down.

Gulf Stream is not slowing down, scientists claim

Actually it’s called “Global Dumbing” - people are gettin’ stupider by the day.

Maybe they're getting smarter. The "global warming" scammers are getting more shrill and desperate every day because they are losing.
People have turned them off.

Always remember, it's about the money. The "scientists" are merely willing, grant-lusting dupes and frauds. "Energy taxes" and "carbon credit" schemes were going to suck literally $trillions$ from Americans while mightily enriching a few well-connected political string-pullers, and it's all fallen apart. Naturally, we must remain vigilant. That's a lot of moolah, and the scammers won't stop until a stake is driven through their hearts.

Didn’t you get the memo? It’s not “global warming” anymore, it’s now called “Climate change”. Soon to be known as “Weather”...

Used to be weather reports were just that. Now they're propaganda for global climate warming-cooling change.

And another....

1. The Sun's magnetic field is declining.

2. Resulting in less sunspots.

3. Result is global COOLING

4. Best case is another 400 years mini ice age like from 1350 to 1750.

5. Enjoy.

I would not call climate change a serious problem because we have been having climate change since the beginning of time; it is caused by the Sun.

Unlike the wishes of the "global warmists," climate change occurs over a longer period of time. We must monitor our climate, but not get hysterical over the nonexistent man caused climate change being propagated by greedy politicians.

We may be at the cusp of global cooling, again caused by the Sun.
