A watershed moment in the ongoing disaster of ObamaCare, as Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius finally admits that health insurance premiums are rising because of the Presidents health insurance takeover, per the Wall Street Journal:
Ms. Sebeliuss remarks come weeks before insurers are expected to begin releasing rates for plans that start on Jan. 1, 2014, when key provisions of the health law kick in. Premiums have been a sensitive subject for the Obama administration, which is counting on elements in the health law designed to increase competition among insurers to keep rates in check. The administration has pointed to subsidies that will be available for many lower-income Americans to help them with the cost of coverage.
The secretarys remarks are among the first direct statements from federal officials that people who have skimpy health plans right now could face higher premiums for plans that are more generous. She noted that the law requires plans to provide better benefits and treat all customers equally regardless of their medical claims.
Wasn’t she saying the opposite just a week ago?
It would be nice if the insurance companies identified the increase as the “Obamacare premium.”
Obamanation Counterculture File.
Send her back to Topeka.
They didn’t want to listen to the Actuaries, who are very smart and do this for a living. Of course, lawmakers are so much more intelligent since they make decisions out of feelings rather than facts.
Has anyone ever thought about the fact that if we get the “one payer system” how many people working in the insurance system will lose their jobs?
Didn’t someone say, “if you like your plan, you can keep it.”
ROFL! ObamaDoesn'tCare isn't about increasing competition or keeping costs/rates down.
Dems probably figure that they'll just move over to all the new bureaucratic jobs created at HHS. That way, they grow the size of the federal government and they get a bunch of new public union members. Win/win from their perspective.
This despite the fact it doesn't take an actuary to figure out that if you increace beneficiaries, benefits, claims and overhead that premiums are going to have to rise too.
they don’t care, as long as they get free viagra and can marry their “partner”
true, but they make decisions based on feelings. the world of “OZ” will always make sure that everything turns out OK. Then we start looking behind the curtain. and what do we see?.................
he also said I’d save $2500 a year on premiums.
My BC/BS has already gone up $4800 since then
They do NOT care of all the people in the insurance business loses their jobs....they want to CONTROL EVERYONE BY having a one-payer and they can tell all they can’t eat MEAT, SALT, SWEETS....they must do EXERCISE and won’t be able to do dangerous things, like skydiving! It’s COMING!!
Dry and Ruff!
