Rand Paul up on FOX.

Younger people are attracted to libertarian views. It has it’s place within the GOP.

Wallace asks about Rubios’ idea thtat America still Works. Rand says we don’t need new principles, we need leaders that stand on principle. (good answer, good answer)

On immigration/Everify - Paul says opposing Everify is not main part of plan. Not against any checking, prefers govt to do that. I.e. if you get a work visa, anyone applying for welfare, voting, should be checked against that database.

Rand doesn’t think any immigration will pass GOP votes without his type of border security. Doesn’t trust ANY president to establish whether the border is secure. Congress should be voting on that.

We already have laws that govern who can get married, e.g., against incest, age restrictions, polygamy. etc. So if marriage becomes something that anyone can define, why should these other current restrictions remain? This is a slippery slope and it goes against basic human nature and biology.

Rand Paul, FOX - Doesn’t want to promote drug use, but doesn’t want to put them in jail for extended periods. Our prisons are full of non-violents which ruins their lives. Doesn’t promote drug use.

On Same sex marriage - should be a state issue. DOMA has complicated the issue. Thinks the court could strike down the federal aspect of it. Thinks tax code/health insurance could be written to eliminate marriage as part of the issue.

Rand Paul on FOX, Lots of issues that don’t fit within a left/right paradygm. Libertarian candidates can be effective within the GOP.

Legislature is about 10 years behind the public - regarding sending money to Egypt, etc. People agree with him on issues like this (not sending the money).

My take is to drop the hyphenated American pap—Afro American,Hispanic American, Gay American etc., etc. its all BS and just view everyone as an American.
Do that and the left won’t know what to do.
Once voters learn there is a party that does not subdivide voters into groups and views everyone the same; we win they lose.

Both are saying they want border security first. Either they are naive or they are in on the shell game. If they are sincere, the government could made strident efforts in securing the border with EXISTING laws.

Boy do I agree with that one. NO new laws are needed in order for the Bush (pas) and the Obama (current) administrations to CLOSE THE BORDER. I think two decades has been suggicient time to close the border. Do it and then - and only then - we can enter into a national debate about immigration quotas and what to do with the hordes that are in our house illegally.

Thinks the court could strike down the federal aspect of it. Thinks tax code/health insurance could be written to eliminate marriage as part of the issue.

Again, more fuzzy thinking by Paul. The Feds must decide how to define marriage so they can determine who is eligible for federal benefits. It has nothing to do with the states. And if marriage is eliminated from the tax code, how will it be done? Joint returns and spousal deductions will have to be defined.

You mean bi-sexual Americans, gay Americans,Trisexual Americans, etc., etc. its just more BS. All people should come under the same rules and we need to stop making special laws for special people and treat everyone the same.

Agree. Reps would be well-served to push for an end to affirmative action and minority business set asides. Let’s truly go to a color blind society with no group receiving special privileges to compensate for past grievances. We have moved on.

Gary Bauer on FOX - prefer the people of the state making these decisions. (Prop 8)

full court blitz on culture to intimidate people into accepting gay marriage positions.

Nicole Wallace says even a majority of Evangelical Christians under 30 something support gay marriage. LOL, yells at Wallace for interrrupting her (she thought it was Baurer).

Nicole says eventullay there won’t be anyone who doesn’t agree with gay marriage.

Bauer says that contention is ludicrous. This is about raising families. Wallace puts up numbers how people have reversed their positions in just the last 10 years. Asks whether Baurer is worried about losing elections over this. Baurer says no, the polls are skewed.

Nicole Wallace - on whether gay marriage is a gateway issue - we need to have a place for both of us in the Republican party. (huh? that’s not what she said earlier)

It is a way to destroy the church once they begin suing pastors and priests for discrimination. It will be the end of Christianity in America.

Pray for America

Exactly it seems so simple....
It would solve a lot of problems.
Any time the left starts favoring one group over another all we do is point it out.

FOX on same sex marrige - Evan Bayh thinks the SC will take a middle ground. Thinks it’s time for people to accept SS “marrige”.

Jennifer Rubin - argument has been lost. It’s a done deal, it’s over, SC shouldn’t pull a Roe v. Wade....leave it up to states. In 10 - 20 years, it won’t matter. Done deal, it’s over, get over it.....

Juan on a legal side, doesn’t think you can deny them the right to marriage. The SC shouldn’t be making this decison for the country....

Gingrich brings up the Federalist Papers. There is no Constitutional right to hold a Constitutional convention with each of these decisions. Believes a marriage is between a man and a woman, but there are facts on the ground. States should decide this.

Now they get to the tax code......and drop it. Well so much delving into THAT aspect of the whole issue.
