Bishop Labels Church of England 'Hypocritical’ Over Civil Partnerships The Church of England is facing fresh divisions over same-sex unions. Its leadership has come under attack from one of its own bishops over its refusal to bless homosexual couples.

By Edward Malnick 23 Mar 2013

The Bishop of Buckingham, the Rt Rev Dr Alan Wilson, said the Church’s ban on offering blessings for civil partnerships was being flouted by several parishes across Britain. He said this was because some felt the blessings were “logical, natural and compassionate”.

His comments come amid tensions within the Church over its opposition to the Government’s plans to legalise same-sex marriage. The newly enthroned Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev Justin Welby, has underlined his opposition to the plans. However, a survey by The Sunday Telegraph has found several churches openly offering blessings for gay couples in civil partnerships.

Dr Wilson said bishops were turning a blind eye to churches flouting the rules to avoid a confrontation between the new archbishop and traditionalist leaders in Africa and South America, who strongly oppose any moves to bless homosexual couples.

He said: “At the moment the policy is, 'Don’t ask, don’t tell’. We all know that in many dioceses there are one or two places these gay blessings have been happening. It’s hypocrisy, although it is understandable.

“Underlying the crisis there is believed to be a need for the archbishop to say to conservative elements in the Anglican Communion, 'Oh no, we don’t do that sort of thing. It’s only the naughty Americans do that.’” He added: “It is very difficult when an institution is too frightened of its own shadow to engage with the real world.

having sex and being turned on wiht feces or poking turds and wearing strap ons and pretending she has a penis and acting like a guy does not warrent marriage.

Hell polygamy is more normal than homosexuality, at least the opposite sex can actually have a baby and reproduce.

The human body is surely an amazing machine but even now asses are there to push out feces and get rid of waste , it;s not to have waste pushed back in.

There is a reason why the human species is still here and that is because it takes a female and a male to reproduce.

Does the Anglican Bible not contain the book of Leviticus? If it does, do they not believe the Bible to be The Word of God? If they do, how do they square themselves giving blessing on behavior that God has prohibited in Leviticus 18:22? Was God in error?

While they do have an answer for that, they don’t have to give it very often. Just like in politics, the Religious Left never has to deal with any questions about their views. That’s good for them, because they way they dance around both the Old and New Testaments on homosexuality is breathtaking.

You see, really what was prohibited as an “abomination” was temple prostitution. And the Sodomites were really guilty of just being rude to strangers (I guess trying to rape them would qualify as rudeness). No, seriously, I’m not kidding, that’s what they argue. For real. I can’t remember how they handle Paul’s denunciations of homosexuality, but I’m certain it’s at least as absurd.

Who would have thought, a few years ago, that in such a few years time the church would be discussing, not merely tolerating homosexual marriage, but blessing it.

Its an easy enough litmus test, I suppose. If a church is even considering such a thing, the Spirit has long departed and this church is no longer church. Just people play-acting.
