Insurers: Health overhaul to hike some premium rates
Newsday ^ | 3/17/2013 | TOM MURPHY The Associated Press

Some Americans could see their insurance bills double next year as the health care overhaul law expands coverage to millions of people.

The nation's big health insurers say they expect premiums -- or the cost for insurance coverage -- to rise from 20 percent to 100 percent for millions of people due to changes that will occur when key provisions of the Affordable Care Act roll out in January 2014.

Mark Bertolini, chief executive of Aetna Inc., one of the nation's largest insurers, calls the price hikes "premium rate shock."

"We've done all the math, we've shared it with all the regulators, we've shared it with all the people in Washington that need to see it, and I think it's a big concern," Bertolini has said.

“if they triple my coverage, then I will have no choice but to waive my 80/20 ( I pay 20% ) employer HMO insurance and go to an exchange”

If you have employer coverage and you reject it, I’m pretty sure you won’t be eligible for subsidized exchange insurance. Even weirder, I’ve read in multiple places that if your employer offers just YOU coverage and not your dependents, they’re not eligible for subsidized exchange insurance whether you accept your coverage or not!

Now wait a minute-—

“The health care law will bring down costs and save money for young people and families,” said Erin Shields Britt, a spokeswoman for the Department of Health and Human Services. “It’s misleading to look at one provision of the law alone. Taken together, the law will reduce costs.”

Thankfully, it is only SOME premiums. [/s]

Moslems, Congress and their STaff
are not under ObamaCARE/DeathCARE and
THEIR premiums will NEVER go up.

“The health care law will bring down costs and save money for young people and families,” said Erin Shields Britt, a spokeswoman for the Department of Health and Human Services.

She lied. No surprise. It is standard operating procedure for anyone, elected or in the bureaucracy, who works inside the beltway. It is a shame so many citizens either believe what they are told, no matter how outrageous, or find the deceit acceptable.

Would like to see the link to support those exemptions.

The only ones I’ve been able to find are “social security exempt” religions (aka Amish & Mennonite).

Well, I guess it’s a good thing my almost 60-year-old husband was terminated from his job last week after almost 7 years. Now we don’t have to watch our premiums skyrocket since we won’t have insurance anymore after next week.

affordable , yes the left likes their name games,
homosexuals are called gay
illegals are un documentated

sad part is that our side calls these keywords what the left wants instead of what they really are.

Of course, the talking point here is/will be: Ok, sure it’s going up for everyone, but this merely reflects the actual cost of health care in this country.

Or some such nonsense.

IOW, forget what we told you earlier.

how much is an Obamacare policy?
************************************
up 80% here and with “bronze” level coverage , down from “silver” ... had it pretty good before , huge company with most workers under 30 ,,, now we’re paying $8K for our portion and the employer portion is $13k... we’re paying the equivalent of a fulltime $30k/yr job (minus taxes) for family coverage. If we get another 30/40/50% bump we’ll have to go without and pay the penalty ... of course by then my wifes company will be doing so badly that we won’t really have any choice,, or job.

Muzzies are exempt , sharia law prohibits gambling and insurance is considered gambling... it has been verified by the administration that they are exempt.

On top of that, we just got his final paycheck today. They told him they’d pay him for the whole week (he got fired last Wednesday) but instead they only paid him through that day. He got no vacation pay, even though he had 74 hours available, so after almost 7 years of dedicated service, his final check was $274. Insight Enterprises can go eff themselves, IMO. And they wonder why employees have no company loyalty anymore.
