We were once going to retire to Colorado. We had the city picked out and were making real estate inquiries. Then I started reading ugly reports about skyrocketing crime and a massive illegal and liberal influx. Seemingly overnight the state became California on the Front Range. So no chance that we will retire there, and probably no chance that we will ever visit again.

Assuming that I even get to retire, Alaska is looking better all the time. Someplace far away from busybodies, nannies and Obamagube's storm troopers.

Passage of the law just devalued your land to anyone who is a firearms owner.

No doubt.

There is some discussion about getting a constitutional ammendment put on the ballot for the 2014 election that prohibits thest types of laws.

Yes, I really hope the vermin pay for this in 2014, but I just don’t know given how far the state has declined.

Sad, isn't it... and unfortunately, once the liberals plant their tentacles down, they never let go. It's conquered territory.

This, from Magpul’s Facebook site:

With the signing of the HB 1224, we want to reassure Colorado residents, now officially in occupied territory, that the “Boulder Airlift” will continue until we can no longer legally ship to CO residents at the approach of the July 1 deadline, so long as demand continues.

We are looking at additional ways to give Coloradans the opportunity to buy the magazines they need prior to the enactment date, as although we’ve been swamped with tens of thousands of orders, our shipping department limitations have only allowed us to get a few hundred thousand magazines out to CO residents...a small portion of our monthly production. We’ll continue to support the Airlift as long as demand exists, and up to the active date of the legislation, and we’ve allocated a little over a million magazines for the effort up to that point, give or take.

Customers in the rest of the country should rest assured that the airlift only takes a small portion of our production, and magazines and other products are continuing to ship to the rest of the nation. Our transition to a new home will occur in a phased and orderly a manner to allow us to continue to serve our customers during the move, as well as to allow an orderly transition for affected employees. We are actively working on those plans.

Not unlikely, but it doesn't really help. The crime is forever (the law) yet the punishment is finite (electoral losses). The pendulum always swings back the other way eventually (back left again after the "punishment"), and when was the last time you saw Republicans repealing stuff en masse when it was their turn to be in power?

Magpul leaving will just give them an (another)excuse to raise taxes “to make up for lost revenue”.

Leftards aren’t real good with that cause and effect stuff.

This was at state level. Changing the Constitution would be nice too, but that is a difficult process.

I live next door to Colorado. I have a CCW permit. Does this mean I can’t bring my carry weapon (9 mm Springfield XD, 16 rd mag) into the state any more? No way I’m visiting the crime-infested hellhole known as Denver without it. Looks like my tourism dollars will be spent in Wyoming from now on. Not that the loss of my pitiful vacation budget will matter to anyone.

It is my summation that this is the Progressives effective "Red Dawn" Strategy of cutting the Nation in pieces from the center, given so many roads to other States go through Colorado. This would make many a Hunter / Firearms Enthusiast essentially criminals by just passing through now with what was in their possession was once o.k,, now makes them potential Felons... Sad day for America IMHO...
