Republican Party: Get Diverse or Face Extinction

The Republican Party is giving itself somewhat of an ultimatum: improve at courting racially diverse and young voters or be condemned as a perennial loser at the national level.

That's a core message of a comprehensive report that the Republican National Committee (RNC) will release Monday, which proposes wholesale changes to the way the party operates in the wake of back-to-back losses in presidential elections. That includes how the party identifies and reaches out to voters, uses data and technology, raises money, conducts presidential primaries, and confronts campaign finance laws that have given rise to deep-pocketed super PACs.

But the transformation put forth by the committee is sure to encounter resistance from entrenched corners of the GOP and the conservative movement as the right looks to win back the White House.

The 97-page report, commissioned by RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, is blunt about the mistakes the party has made in past elections, especially when it comes to alienating some of the fastest-growing groups in the country that have gained increasing political influence, such as Latinos, African-Americans, Asian-Americans and people under the age of 30. The report offers up a roadmap for the GOP to shed its reputation as an "out of touch" party full of "stuffy old men" and eventually earn more votes from the aforementioned groups in national elections.

"The RNC cannot and will not write off any demographic, community, or region of this country," Priebus said Monday morning in a speech unveiling the report at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

The RNC wants to prove it's serious about revamping its image after losing two straight presidential elections by launching a renewal project titled the "Growth and Opportunity Project." The initiative will include a $10 million push to reach out to Hispanic, African-American, and Asian-American voters.

Let me say it again, we had an historic blow out victory in 2010 and the RNC promptly fired the winning RNC chairman.

We had an historic blow out loss in 2012 and the RNC promptly rehired the losing RNC chairman.

I do believe Priebus and his crowd are pumping a dry well!

Also, modern medicine has a full medicine cabinet full of very useful psychoactive drugs ~ they should use them!

During the RNC convention, several people pointed out that MSM went to a break or other topic when women or minorities were speaking. Naturally this feeds the chant from the progressives that the RNC is racist, not diverse, and uncaring to minorities.

The problem is not the RNC message, it’s that the message is ignored and distorted.

This strategy is racist at it's core.

It says, "We used to be a party of correct principals but blacks and browns can't understand correct principals. Now we will just play politics to keep power."

Knowing full well what would happen, yesterday I clicked on the 'feedback' link on the "Autopsy" website. I left feedback saying my party had left me.

Naturally, today I got a fundraising e-mail from "Reince Priebus".

GOP-E is as tone deaf as Baraq. And THAT's saying something. Here I am telling them where to go and how to get there and their response is to ask for my money.

Talk about a thumb in the eye to the base. Thankfully whenever I deal with the Republican Party these days I wear a welder's helmet.

Republicans are fools to chase the “diversity vote”; some worthwhile minorities already vote for Repubs, and chasing the others with freebies simply suppresses the white birthrate further (2008 and 2012 weren’t flukes; they were the product of social engineering). As long as each taxpayer has to support one home-grown permanent welfare recipient, one imported illegal welfare recipient, and one government employee, then the birthrate will continue to drop while the parasites continue to make up an increasingly larger part of the electorate.

Anyone who has visited a maternity ward or passed a schoolyard within the past ten years could see the writing on the wall; the WASPs are done. Doesn’t mean all is lost, but the WASP ideal has been successfully removed from mainstream culture.

We really need to appeal to the EBT crowd and offer them more goodies. They should push through amnesty for illegals and bring on homosexual marriage. I'm sure the welfare/illegal alien/gay voting blocs will put the GOP back on top. /sarc

The republican party should abide by the founding principles and the constitution.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.—That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

The government, our government is the government of ALL the people. No classes or group distinctions apply.

The democrats seek to divide and conquer through class warfare. We do not need to follow their lead. We should unite to defend the constitution.

I will NOT vote for a Republican who fails to be fiscally conservative, against the destruction of marriage and pro-life ever again, not even for president. Sorry, Tokyo Rove, but your moderate candidates have lost us everything, and when we had the presidency for two terms, we did NOTHING with it. Right now, Republicans look set to roll on gay marriage, with Portman being gushed over. Should the party “evolve”, I’m either moving to Russia, or moving to the most conservative district in America and becoming a recluse. It just won’t be worth fighting for anymore. America will be officially beyond help when our civil society collapses.

I was at the Convention in Tampa....the “stuffy old men” included Susana Martinez, Mia Love, Condoleezza Rice, Kathy McMorris Rogers, etc.

This is nonsense; it was the ground game that won the election.
