War Games: Unstable North Korea Voids 1953 Armistice

War: A decaying regime with nuclear weapons and long-range missiles threatens war. It would be dangerous to dismiss this as mere bluster from a leader who consults ex-NBA stars with a fondness for wedding dresses.

North Korea's army has formally declared invalid the armistice agreement that ended the Korean War in 1953, an article in Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of North Korea's ruling Workers' Party, reported Monday.

Threats from North Korea have customarily been treated with a high degree of skepticism. This is not 1950 with a revolutionary China ready and willing to come to its aid.

Its conventional military is relatively ancient, if numerous. Yet, as Pyongyang marches relentlessly toward deliverable nukes and the missiles to carry them, there are indications that our problems may be reaching, no pun intended, critical mass.

When the U.N. Security Council voted for tougher sanctions on a North Korea that continues to test nuclear weapons and improve its long-range missiles to the point of being able to put objects in orbit, the big news was that neighboring China went along.

We and others have long argued that China, which supplies two-thirds of North Korea's food and more than half its energy, had more than enough leverage by itself to rein in its belligerent neighbor but for a variety of reasons refused to do so.

To the extent China might be serious in restraining its neighbor, the news is welcome. Certainly that possibility has made the North Koreans nervous, with both the military and the regime of Kim Jong Un worried about a total destabilization that risks their grip on power.

The tearing up of the 1953 armistice and the threat of a nuclear strike on U.S. territory may be more of a warning to China than to us.

How about that . . . N. Korea has a fat slob who doesn’t know what to do with his power . . . and we have a skinny illegal alien sock puppet who has a bunch of handlers who DO know what to do with their power.

It’s 0300 and Barry Obongo has taken a sleeping pill before he flies off to Hawaii for four weeks of fund raising, basketball, and golf. Nothing to see here, unless Kim Jong-Un decides to drop the hammer on Hawaii. Oops, Barry. Kinda sucks doesn’t it dude?

If he ever goes to the countryside without his escort the starving peons will barbeque him.

Kim 3 likely is nothing more than a LINO. He’s far too young and far too inexperienced to really understand the consequences of anything he might do.

I could be wrong, but this is all the generals doing.

This is only a ruse to keep his people in line. There is absolutely no threat from these potato heads. All they want are more “concessions” to gets freebees from those that would give them, such as with stupid Odumbo, which they will then ignore, and then go back to biz as usual.

Really surprised the Chicoms haven’t thrown the Norks under the bus. They’d really fare better if they had 24,000,000 more customers of their cheap shit.

Just a variation of the "Crazy Fearsome Cripple Gambit"

Would be nice if the original StratFor article was available to non-subscribers ...
