Dr. Benjamin Carson made some more controversial statements Saturday.
Appearing on Fox News's America's News Headquarters, Carson said, "The bullies are the people, especially the media who like to just beat on anybody who doesn't toe the line...they suppress freedom of speech" (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary):
UMA PEMMARAJU, HOST: Why do you think your message is resonating with so many people?DR. BENJAMIN CARSON: Because I think there are a lot of people who have been bludgeoned into silence who really feel very strongly about the values of this country, and they don't think that there is anything they can do now. And finally when somebody speaks up about it, they resonate with that. You know, Ive gotten so many letters from people who said they had given up, and now they were invigorated again. Every place I go, people come up to me and tell me that. And, you know, it makes me understand that there is a large number of frustrated people out there. They just don't feel like they're being represented.
PEMMARAJU: Well, you take aim at political correctness in this country, and you have said somebody has to stand up, quote, to the bullies. Who are the bullies that you're referring to?
CARSON: The bullies are the people, especially the media who like to just beat on anybody who doesn't toe the line, who doesn't say what they're supposed to say, and act the way they're supposed to act. And they suppress freedom of speech and freedom of expression and people have succumbed to that.
And what I'm telling people to do is don't succumb to it. You know, talk about what you think is right. You need to talk to even the people who represent you, because a lot of those people don't really know what you feel if you don't really speak up and tell them. And they, instead, begin to listen to the special interest groups and the people who are paying them lots of money. And really that's not the way that the system was set up.
Paul/Carson 2016???;)
May God give him the grace he will need to stand up to those bullies.
“Paul/Carson 2016???;)”
What we have in Dr/ Carson is a man of principle and conviction, unlike the affirmative action mongrel we have in the White Hut at present. There is no hyphenation with Dr. Carson’s Americanism. As he has presented himself up to now, he would make a fine representative of the people wherever he elected to serve. It’s just so unfortunate that there are not more like him today who see the truth and are willing to talk about it openly!
I’m not sure there is a more believable and trustworthy set of credentials anyone could offer so I think it will be difficult for the media to undermine the background of one of the world’s most renowned neurosurgeons even if everything Dr Carson stands for on a political level are things the far left are against.
My post was with respect to Dr. Carson, although there is a lot to like about Rand Paul as well
Nice comment...on the money.
I agree, most of the politicians today sound like they’re reading canned sound bites that are designed to be as bland as possible. (Except, of course, if they’re Democrats;)
Americans are fed up with the direction of this country and that’s why the words and actions of Dr. Carson and Dr. Paul have resonated in the country. I won’t go so far to say this should be a presidential team but we’ve waited for five years for someone or anyone to stand up to this administration besides talk radio and these two have been the most prominent figures to do so and it’s about time.

Please don’t forget Sen. Ted Cruz (TX), who is a former State Solicitor General; who argued cases before the SCOTUS and won; who interned for Justice Rienquest (sp?); etc.
I believe he has stood for the Conservatives more than Rand Paul (a libertarian) and has taken it to this administration at every opportunity. Cruz is thoroughly knowledgeable of the Constitution and knows how to question people appearing in Congress... even Eric Holder and Chuck Hagle... where he made them look like the fools they are.
A person who was once close to me said one day, out of the clear blue, “I hate Joe the Plumber.”
I said “For what?” He was standing in his driveway and obama walked over for a photo op and the truth slipped out of his mouth. So the press went after Joe to cover for obama. Joe’s trash was picked through. His tax returns and child support payments were investigated and his plumbing license was found to be expired so they made that a big deal. Is that why you hate him?” He didn’t respond.
But this shows how the people who watch the left wing media believe everything they see and hear and feel the way they’re told to feel. If they’re told to hate someone, they hate them. The same person said “I hate Sarah Palin.” When I asked him why he hemmed and hawed and finally said “Because she’s stupid.” I just shook my head.
This is the same Dr. Carson that said some people in the cities do not deserve to own automatic weapons.
Pick and choose who the 2nd amendment applies to?
That “rock solid” one is the one you are referring to?
You see, SCP, we can nitpick our team apart if we really try. I could pick Rand apart as well, but why?
All in all I think Dr. Carson is one hell of a stand up person and when he speaks he speaks from his heart. You know why? Because he never reads what he is saying. He lives what he is saying and so it is embedded in his heart and soul. I would love to meet the guy in person and shake his hand and tell him, thanks for standing up, just standing up and speaking out with true convictions. Not some male bovine scat 999 plan or other hogwash gimic, but conviction.
This is what we lack in our leadership, conviction.
The rats especially the black rats (naacp, black congressional caucus) dont take kindly to black men who speak the truth and step out of the line making thier scam on America and thier own slave plantation put out there for all to see
Party ownership of the print media
made it easy to manipulate public opinion,
and the film and radio carried the process further.
....... The Ministry of Truth, Winston's place of work, contained, it was said, three thousand rooms above ground level, and corresponding ramifications below. The Ministry of Truth concerned itself with Lies. Party ownership of the print media made it easy to manipulate public opinion, and the film and radio carried the process further. The primary job of the Ministry of Truth was to supply the citizens of Oceania with newspapers, films, textbooks, telescreen programmes, plays, novels - with every conceivable kind of information, instruction, or entertainment, from a statue to a slogan, from a lyric poem to a biological treatise, and from a child's spelling-book to a Newspeak dictionary. Winston worked in the RECORDS DEPARTMENT (a single branch of the Ministry of Truth) editing and writing for The Times. He dictated into a machine called a speakwrite. Winston would receive articles or news-items which for one reason or another it was thought necessary to alter, or, in Newspeak, rectify. If, for example, the Ministry of Plenty forecast a surplus, and in reality the result was grossly less, Winston's job was to change previous versions so the old version would agree with the new one. This process of continuous alteration was applied not only to newspapers, but to books, periodicals, pamphlets, posters, leaflets, films, sound-tracks, cartoons, photographs - to every kind of literature or documentation which might conceivably hold any political or ideological significance. When his day's work started, Winston pulled the speakwrite towards him, blew the dust from its mouthpiece, and put on his spectacles. He dialed 'back numbers' on the telescreen and called for the appropriate issues of The Times, which slid out of the pneumatic tube after only a few minutes' delay. The messages he had received referred to articles or news-items which for one reason or another it was thought necessary to rectify. In the walls of the cubicle there were three orifices. To the right of the speakwrite, a small pneumatic tube for written messages; to the left, a larger one for newspapers; and on the side wall, within easy reach of Winston's arm, a large oblong slit protected by a wire grating. This last was for the disposal of waste paper. Similar slits existed in thousands or tens of thousands throughout the building, not only in every room but at short intervals in every corridor. For some reason they were nicknamed memory holes. When one knew that any document was due for destruction, or even when one saw a scrap of waste paper lying about, it was an automatic action to lift the flap of the nearest memory hole and drop it in, whereupon it would be whirled away on a current of warm air to the enormous furnaces which were hidden somewhere in the recesses of the building. As soon as Winston had dealt with each of the messages, he clipped his speakwritten corrections to the appropriate copy of The Times and pushed them into the pneumatic tube. Then, with a movement which was as nearly as possible unconscious, he crumpled up the original message and any notes that he himself had made, and dropped them into the memory hole to be devoured by the flames. What happened in the unseen labyrinth to which the tubes led, he did not know in detail, but he did know in general terms. As soon as all the corrections which happened to be necessary in any particular number of The Times had been assembled and collated, that number would be reprinted, the original copy destroyed, and the corrected copy placed on the files in its stead. In the cubicle next to him the little woman with sandy hair toiled day in day out, simply at tracking down and deleting from the Press the names of people who had been vaporized and were therefore considered never to have existed. And this hall, with its fifty workers or thereabouts, was only one-sub-section, a single cell, as it were, in the huge complexity of the Records Department. Beyond, above, below, were other swarms of workers engaged in an unimaginable multitude of jobs. There were huge printing-shops and their sub editors, their typography experts, and their elaborately equipped studios for the faking of photographs. There was the tele-programmes section with its engineers, its producers and its teams of actors specially chosen for their skill in imitating voices; clerks whose job was simply to draw up lists of books and periodicals which were due for recall; vast repositories where the corrected documents were stored; and the hidden furnaces where the original copies were destroyed. And somewhere or other, quite anonymous, there were the directing brains who co-ordinated the whole effort and laid down the lines of policy which made it necessary that this fragment of the past should be preserved, that one falsified, and the other rubbed out of existence. |
Only to Liberals!
This is exactly why Dr. Carson is so feared by the liberal media. His comments are simple, precise, and devastating. It's too bad he disdains politics.
