- Bailey O'Neill turned 12 on Saturday, a day before his death -
A young boy who was the victim of bullying died at the hospital Sunday morning, according to his family. Bailey O'Neill, who turned 12 on Saturday, was in a coma after suffering several seizures.
Bailey's family says he was jumped by two classmates during recess at Darby Township School back in January and suffered a concussion as well as a broken nose as a result. He then began to suffer seizures the next day...

Isnt that called murder, not bullying?
Any one know if this was an Amish attack on a non-Amish student?
So sad. This little one is in the arms of Jesus.
Sounds like “knockout game” junior edition
“he was jumped by two classmates during recess at Darby Township School”
Two things: 1) never liked the term “jumped” I think here the proper way to say it would be “ unprovoked attack” (just my pet peeve).
2) Where the hell were the adults?! When I was 12 there was always AT LEAST one teacher on duty watching the kids, if this was my child the school had better be able to prove there were adults in the area of where this occured.
Brought to you by Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love.
Good point. So even the title was ‘media lite’.
From one parent’s review on the 1st link of my comment: “...so many of the kids that go there are out of control and have no respect for anyone, least of all authority.”
Same story in so many schools run by political correctness.
after searching awhile on the Internet, it seems that it is affirmative that the killers are “Amish”.
Thanks for the information. Any information regarding the boy killed by our little Amish “brothers?”?
Wish I didn’t click the link to read the rest of the article where they have Bailey’s picture. So little, so sweet looking, so freak’n heart wrenching.
I wondered too, where the adults were... they I read this occurred in one of our urban utopias. The school will reflexively blame a lack of funding for a lack of teacher supervision.
they I read = then I read
Where’s the Trayvon Martin bloviators?
The fact that this is reported by NBCPhilly tells me all I need to know about the perps.

Bullied Boy Dies in Hospital: Family"
in all fairness white kids bully too but not usually lethally
i have taught mine to NEVER bully but to stand up for the weak
i suspect this was a minority laden community...given the barbarity or these were confused feral white trash sorts who wish they had been born black
whitebread nation ..is very very very sensitive about bullying to the point that tattletelling and snitching openly even in middle school is not shameful
when i grew up only girls and future cakeboys snitched
we live in a paradox...an overly sensitive zero tolerance uber PC system on one hand and basically a jungle freeforall on the other
the latter is why where I grew up all whites go private or home and so do many black kids whose parents care
but where I live now where our “blacks” are Eddie George and Clarence Thomas sort of black kids our boys live in an over the top any masculine aggression is to be thwarted mentality... with little adult male presence in the schools
you should see me at parent teacher conferences....I might as well be a Viking raider landing on the east coast of England circa 800 AD given how squeamish those little girl teachers are about how to deal with boys...it's crazy
the best defense from bullies is an older ally...it is a damn shame this little fella had none
most disturbing is how kids roughly in his age group would think stomping someone already down is appropriate
i grew up in a fairly hard blue collar neighborhood till 15...and we woulda never done that
there is little more poignant than to realize the loneliness and fear that guy musta felt beaten to death...waters my eyes up a bit to be honest...we have all had to deal with being picked on or isolated or whupped
to be beaten to death just for the sake of it is horrible
i hope God gave him comfort quick as he could
kids die and suffer world over..that is the one thing spending a lot of years in harsh faraway places I never got used to
and folks who have kids or close nieces and nephews know how sharp stories like this sting
Unfortunately it does not take long to do brain damage.
Children today watch ridiculous violence presented in games and media in unrelistic ways. They see things that would kill people, and the guy just gets up and takes several more of the same. They may not have actually realized that their action were life threatening.
Of course that does not excuse it. The minimum charge should be manslaughter.
