ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ)Maryland is a step closer to enacting some of the strictest gun control legislation in the country.
The Maryland Senate passed an amended bill that keeps the governors original plan for gun control intact.
...
Since their rally Feb. 6, gun advocates have continued to protest what they believe is a violation of their Second Amendment right to bear arms.
And those arguments were echoed in the Senate chamber Thursday.
We are taking that right away from law-abiding citizens, argued Senator Nancy Jacobs, (R) Harford County.
In marathon sessions, the senate amended and passed the Firearms Safety Act of 2013 28-19.
You know if you have a gun youre not going to be happy with the bill, said Senate President Mike Miller after the vote.

Well, they’re not really “taking away the right”. The right is the right and doesn’t run and hide from improper, illegal legislation. They’re just criminalizing your exercise of the right. Not criticizing her, she’s obviously speaking out for rights in an anti-rights hell hole, so she’s to be commended.
And like Chicago I’m sure all the gun violence in Baltimore will just disappear.
Maryland can say goodbye to Beretta.
If they go through with this, we may see a whole lot of slimy, liberty-stealing Democrats out of work next election.
Hop across the border to any small town in West Virginia on flea market day and we'll hook you up with anything you need...and no hoops to jump through!
PS: The only gun laws that the WV Legislature is seriously considering this term would loosen restrictions...
Nancy is a great voice in the MD Senate. I hope she runs for higher office again.
Thanks. I can be there in about an hour or so :)
Well, I’m waiting to see how these laws get enforced (NYS, California, Maryland). I can’t help but see blood in the future.
What a bunch of idiots. MD already has some of the worst gun laws in the country.
Art. 6. That all persons invested with the Legislative or Executive powers of Government are the Trustees of the Public, and, as such, accountable for their conduct: Wherefore, whenever the ends of Government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the People may, and of right ought, to reform the old, or establish a new Government; the doctrine of non-resistance against arbitrary power and oppression is absurd, slavish and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.
As the country divides up between free and slave, I’m afraid Maryland is a lost cause. It’s like I tell the Californians, you have to leave, the decision is between a USA free state or offshore.
As I posted earlier, if Ashley Judd wins in Kentucky, I’m outta here.
I hear you my FRiend. These people can use up the nation’s forests putting useless illegal laws on paper. “We the people” still understand what the Constitution says and means, even if these crazed legislators don’t.
We have discussed leaving Maryland often lately. It will be tough leaving the family behind but a free and warmer state seems more than likely to be our answer.
Exactly. If we chopped off Baltimore City and the DC suburbs we would be a red state. We are terribly Jerrymandered here.
For me it was a clear cut choice. When Kucinich took Cleveland into bankruptcy back in 78, I knew it was time to bail out.
LOL. 5-years for a misdemeanor? That’s a new one, at least in my experience.
There’s a pretty good sized gun show tomorrow and Sunday about 5 minutes from my house. Come on down. We’ll peruse the goods, head out later to get some range time in, then finish it off with some d@mn fine BBQ down at Calhoun’s on the River. The Volunteer State has a lot to offer.
The only way that half wit can win here is if the (even dumber) Republican Party establishment screws it up. Which they may endeavor to do.
