From Wonky to Walkies! Abandoned puppy enjoys new 'leash' of life after physiotherapy
Daily Mail ^ | 26th February 2013 | Nick Enoch

'When the world was first introduced to Wonky the puppy earlier this month, she cut a pitiful figure.

The little Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross was given the unusual name because of severe problems with her malformed front legs, which failed to develop after she was separated from her mother.

But now, after intense physiotherapy, the 12-week-old has quickly made a fantastic recovery.

Where once she walked awkwardly on bent joints, she can now bound along normally, her tail wagging as she goes.'

All that effort and next thing you know, some ignorant flat-foot will find a reason to shoot her. Sorry to sound so cynical but hardly a day goes by anymore.....

Nice story! It would be even nicer if the vet were offering his services for free so as not to excessively burden the dog’s potential owners with the anticipated astronomical vet bills.......

Why should the vet offer his services for free? Not saying that it wouldn’t be nice, but do you work for free?

We do rescue. It always amazes us how “unadoptable” dogs we get turn out to be great, loving dogs. We have also paid for many medical procedures to make dogs more adoptable. Most vets will discount for rescue orgs.

I thought it was a little more tactful than saying the dog should have been put down as a puppy rather than left on the street..........

There, you happy now?......Sheesh

The German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County just brought in a puppy which was born without foot bones. We are hoping to fit the puppy with a prosthetic device. The specialist will evaluate whether this is possible.

The puppy’s profile has not been posted yet.

I love dogs. Most dogs probably more than most people. When I see the conditions that so many animals are rescued from it just breaks my heart. I hope that puppy and the person who adopts it have some wonderful times together.

I’ve done a lot of artwork for breed rescue for free.

I paid for the materials, did the work and shipped it out on my own dime.

[and 30 4” slate tiles with bas relief dog sculptures on them ain’t cheap to ship]

So, yeah...some people do “good deeds” for free..and then some.
