Ex-Obamacare foe Gov. Rick Scott waves white flag on Medicaid expansion
Examiner ^

When the history of President Obama’s drive for national health care is written, there are several moments that will be looked back upon as having cemented the law in place. There were “conservative” Democrats Ben Nelson and Bart Stupak dropping their objections to Obamacare to get the legislation across the finish line. There was Chief Justice John Roberts siding with the Supreme Court’s liberals to uphold the constitutionality of the law. There was President Obama’s reelection victory, which crushed any feasible path to full repeal. On Thursday, Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s delivered yet another blow to opponents to Obamacare by endorsing the law’s Medicaid expansion in his state

Little more gone every day.

Sucks that no one cares.

Oh well - go pay your taxes. Your country is broke. :)

I wonder what they got on him?
We know what happened to Roberts, but how did they get to Scott?

The Florida legislature will also have their say, and it will probably be no.

I posted not too long ago on another thread that Rick Scott “would probably cave on ObamaCare”. I was right

Rick Scott supported Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, The New Black KKK...er Panthers, and all the other Black Hate Groups in the lynching of George Zimmerman. If someone is so easily swayaed by Black Racists....Socialized Medicine is nothing....

Even worse, this PhonyCon Liberal spent millions on ads with his fraud “Conservatives for Patients Rights” organization....which helped fund his governor run

Scott needs to be priamried out. If he is not, Conservatives will need to vote Third Party Conservative. A vote for Scott is like a vote for Charlie Crist (who is probably dancing a jig with his buddy John Morgan right now....)

With the federal government taking over 100% of state Medicaid costs, it was something Rick Scott like John Kasich couldn’t afford to turn down.

His state voted for Obama in November and the writing was on the wall.

I talked to my Rep a few weeks ago and I got the feeling from him that this is DOA! He is a working MD and has keen insight on the issue. Rick Scott has done a lot for the State and has pissed of many Libs, especially teacher union folks. Scott is not stupid and I think he is playing good cop bad cop on this issue along with the $2500.00 increase for teachers.

Where do you think the federal government gets its money from?

I agree. Scott will get some hearts and flowers from the stste’s newspapers for advocating Medicaid expansion — which will be useful for his reelection prospects.

We know what happened to Roberts

We do?

That aside, I suspect that money talked big in this case.

I honestly don’t know why Roberts voted like he did.

Rick Scott was just another RINO packaged as a “Tea Party Conservative.”

Over 90 percent of the GOP elected officials are phony balonies. We need a total house cleaning.

Roberts has two adopted kids. From Ireland. It is against Irish law 1) prohibits the adoption of Children to non-residents, and 2) also does not permit private adoptions, but rather has all adoptions go through a public agency.

Apparently he circumvented Irish Law to adopt them.

Scott started out good but since the months have gone by my Gov seems to have gone off the rals and seems to be turning left.

Yet again we see another decent person get into power and then change their views and morals once power gets to their heads or the left have something on him.

He;s also given all teachers a pay rise when we don;t have that money.

our Gov also gave all teachers a pay rise.

He;s going the same way as Crist and Bush.

I’m, sick of voting for people and then seeing them turn to the left once in power

The governor is first and foremost a hospital guy.

If there is no medicaid, the hospitals must treat all comers even if they cannot pay. The cost of that treatment is sperad among the paying patients and is in effect a tax.

The better course is relieve the hospitals of playing that losing game and provide paying patients. That is, provide medicaid to the patients and funds to pay the bill. In this case, the money is free, from the feds.

Take the money...... it is best for the state of Florida and it’s citizens. When the three years are up cross the bridge when you come to it.

Do not worry about a permanent solution in a world where there is no permanency.
