“But what has the NRA done wrong this year?”

They sure haven’t rolled back the bad things they did in the past that we still have to live with. They also currently support the mental health screenings, the background checks, etc. While their public display is one of 2nd support what is their legislative support? For crying out loud, these were the pinheads that recently supported Dingy Harry Reid! Why? How? Who in the world could possibly give that guy support?! Don’t forget, the NRA is the group that started the phrase “sporting purposes of firearms” and until very recently used that phrase. They also helped usher in the 1986 machine gun ban that is still in effect.

While Charlton Heston was posing for the cameras with his “From my cold edead hands”, he was interviewing on the radio claiming “no one needs an AK-47”.

No, thanks. The NRA has done massive damage that they haven’t lifted a finger to repeal.

Mary Ann should be the first one registered and arrested before she commits a crime!

I doubt they'll make the guys that cleared Fallujah look like amateurs. We, (yes I was there) wrote the book on house to house assault.

To the point that certain special forces elements received training from the Marines in Al-Fajr.

Unless that is "they" too have artillery, Close Air Support, and tank/AAV support.

I'm not bragging, but from a first hand account, it would be hard to do anything like that here.

One city with about 3000 fighters did quite a number on 4 Marine Bns and Army 2D of the 2D Cav. And that was one city in a COUNTRY the size of what New York?

And we had fixed wing, rotary wing, 155 howies, 81mm mortars, 60mm mortars, Amphibious Assault Vehicles, M1A1 Abrams, UAVs, M240G machineguns, .50 machineguns, SAWs, SMAWS, AT4s, TOWs, snipers, frag grenades, 203s, Mk19s, up armored HMMWVs, radley fighting vehicle, AC-130 Specter gunships with side mounted 105mm artillery, M4s, M16A4s, ANPVS/14s, ANPVS/7B, PEQ2s, PAS13 thermals, ANPVS/17s, satchel charges, D9 bulldozers etc etc etc........

Now imagine that in 7-8 cities, plus all the towns and outlying areas in EACH STATE (roughly each comparable in size to Iraq)......and this is throughout 50 states.........and up against those that know "their" weaknesses.......or wrote the book. Imagine Fallujah roughly 320 times over again.

10 minutes, a wine bottle, and a few household items from under the kitchen/bathroom sink will even the playing field against APCs etc if you know what you're doing.

Not to mention, the odds are stacked in favor of the defender. It is their ground and they set the parameters. It isn't hard to hem up conventional forces; again, if you know what you are doing. Especially if you are able to set up little nasty surprises beforehand.

I'm not saying it couldn't be attempted, I'm not saying it should be attempted, I'm not saying it wouldn't be bloody.

What I will say is given the amount of gun owners and the vast size of the country, it would be damn near impossible to pull off.

Further, while it may be "professional" goon squads that kick in your door, they certainly won't be some elite super squad. Those take a long time to field, train, arm, and equip.....especially in any sizable number.

Surely this guy cannot be as stupid as he acts. How can anyone fall for this song and dance that limiting someone to ten rounds in a magazine rather than thirty is somehow justified because they can’t kill people quite as fast that way? You have to be one of the walking brain dead to believe that crap.

“This guy can say nobody is planning to take guns from law-abiding citizens, because if owning a gun is illegal, and you own a gun, you are no longer a law-abiding citizen.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Anyone who thinks knows that the actual number of law-abiding adult citizens in this country is zero simply because it is not possible to be law-abiding. Anyone who imagines himself to be a law-abiding citizen is simply living a fantasy and that includes everyone from your local pastor to the demented fake who dwells in the white house. You may WANT to be a law-abiding citizen, you may TRY to be a law-abiding citizen but no matter how hard you try or don’t try you CANNOT BE a law-abiding citizen. We all are violators of unimaginable numbers of laws that we have never heard of that make crimes of actions we would never think twice about and that situation is by design as it was explained in Ayn Rand’s books.

“Like all liberals, he is ignorant of the facts and considers himself smarter than anybody who disagrees with him.”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

They really are some bunch of clowns, alright! They preach “tolerance” to others while exhibiting zero tolerance for anyone who disagrees with them. They call others stupid while acting like idiots themselves. They call conservatives “inconsistent” for being for A and against B while they consider themselves consistent because they are against A and for B. It doesn’t get any more absurd than that. They cannot comprehend the simple fact that both of those positions can be inconsistent or both can be consistent but there is no way possible that one is consistent and the other inconsistent. I suppose it would be somewhat less annoying to me if only the ones who are well to do and positioned at the top were so absurd but even those I know who are unable to survive without all kinds of assistance and are far worse off financially than the average share cropper of sixty years ago with nearly zero to show for their lives still think they know more than any conservative who has run a successful business for twenty years.

Roger that. No disrespect intended. Thank you for your service. You guys are NOT amateurs for sure. Navy here(’67). Dad was a lifer with 32 years(he swore me in when I joined). Youngest daughter served in the Navy (airdale). Grand-daughter did time in Iraq(Army MP). Family history goes back to the Revolution. (the first one in 1776!)

Maybe they’ll “act” like they think they are as good as the guys clearing houses in F-town. Wonder if they know about silly string? Hmmmm.

Molon labe.

Thank you and yours for your service(s) as well.

I didn't feel disrespected. Part of "their" "power" is the projection "they" are unstoppable and near omnipotent.....as further portrayed by the media/teevee mouth pieces through things like CSI Miami, Law & Order, NCIS etc.

Some of your Navy counterparts actually requested guys from our company to travel to their facility and teach urban combat/CQB so they could learn what worked and what didn't.

In my post, I was trying to dispel some of the myth that "they" are unstoppable. For the most part, surprise is their biggest force multiplier.

And, silly string won't save them ;)

As an aside, I don't think it will come to mass confiscation and door to door raids (maybe in a select few areas)....more along the lines of targeting individuals in order to rule by the fiat of fear.....ala Randy Weaver and the Branch Davidians.

Of course, the individuals will be painted as kooks, lunatics, dangerous enemies of the state, and unAmerican. The weak principled sheeple will turn in whatever cap guns they were trying to hold onto and everyone else ill be wondering if their neighbors will discover their arms and rat them out. Of course it will probably continue on like that as who is the bad guy?

Even in NY, one of the Sheriffs just stated he was NOT coming for the citizen's guns and the people should retain them and basically screw the law........hypothetically if a SHTF scenario of this manner came about, what then?

Just my two cents.

Would that be the Daily Red Star?

Thought so.

Want to know how many guns belonging to “law-abiding Americans” have been confiscated while Barack Obama has been president?

Again: Zero. None. Zilch.

Well of course, when they make a gun "illegal", or possession of it illegal, those who possess them are by definition no longer "law abiding".

New York just passed a law banning certain guns, and "grandfathering", but with a registration requirement, existing versions. Anyone who fails to register, or sell out of state, such weapons will no longer be "law abiding" and they will be subject to criminal charges, and their guns will be "come for".

There are bad asses in all branches. Some need more training or reminders of their rolls. Understand that they are not unstoppable.

My sister was here and I tried to give her a little “in-service” briefing about weapons and differences. She whipped out her camera and I said NO! Knowing her she would have posted it to her facebook proclaiming “Look at my brothers guns!” LOL! I told her no pics. Looks worse than it is with that .22 revolver and .22 Ruger and 50 rnds of ammo. LOL! THE arsenal. Somebody knows but no specifics. Most of the neighbors are of a like mind and there are only a few that would drop a dime and they don’t know who has what and where. Local sheriff is not AR friendly. Not sure about the rank and file guys.

Stay safe.

I really like the way this article is written. Worth your time to read it.

Americans Won’t Give Up Their Guns, Law Or Not!
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet
*****************

Ordinarily, I’d agree that THIS is no time to be arguing gun control. With the pain still intense in Connecticut , there should have been a truce declared, to allow for grieving. But the plain truth is, those who declare that a good crisis must not be wasted, jumped the gun (as they usually do) and began a nationwide PR war through the national Mainstream Media to bring as much pressure to bear as they possible could on our government for laws to ban certain guns, eventually ALL guns in the hands of US civilians.

To those on the political and those pushing gun control — in the childish naivete — You need to understand two things: One — Americans are NOT going to give up their guns! That’s one. Number two is this: If you really want to begin a civil war in this country, continue your efforts to take those guns and you will most certainly have one, and I do not think you have any idea, any inkling, of just how ferocious and brutal such a war can be.
If you thought for one moment that American gun owners would assume the fetal position and begin sucking their thumbs — please allow me to disabuse you of that monstrously mistaken assumption!
For the past four years gun owners across America have been planning for just such a move by the gun control crowd. They have been purchasing weapons in record numbers and they have created secret caches of both weapons and ammunition that you simply will not believe. I’d go so far as to say some are even leaning forward, eager for the chance to protect the US Constitution.
Look. Trying to confiscate Americans guns will erupt in pitched firefights, gun battles, between American civilians and government law officers. The government will, as Charlton Heston famously stated, have to pry the weapons from their cold dead hands. Heck, the government might actually get away with a couple of such encounters before the backlash begins. But it will begin — and when it does, there will be hell to pay. In the end, it will be the end of the United States as we know it.
Understand. There are some states that will move to secede rather than obey federal laws that force their citizens to disarm. Other states will arrest and incarcerate federal officers attempting to disarm that states citizens within the physical boundaries of that state.

I just don’t think the gun control folks are thinking with their brains. They exude emotion — PURE emotion, and a dangerous lack of common sense. What they are pushing for will bring nothing less than wreck and ruin to this country.
Do you realize that the number of armed American hunters, alone, surpasses the numbers of all the standing armies of the world — combined? Deer hunters in just one state, alone, number more than the armies of Iran , France , and Germany combined! SOURCE:

http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1889966/pg1 Do you realize that a HUGE proportion of them are veterans of the finest military on the planet?
And don’t think you can just track gun hoarders down and arrest them. It took the US military TEN YEARS to find Osama Bin Laden and he was one man! Try rounding up millions. Can you see the nightmare?
A law that would try to confiscate guns in America would, like Prohibition, suddenly turn America into a nation of criminals. The Eighteenth Amendment to the Constitution, and the Volstead Act caused multiple deaths. ‘Effective enforcement of the alcohol ban during the Prohibition Era proved to be very difficult and led to widespread flouting of the law. The lack of a solid popular consensus for the ban resulted in the growth of vast criminal organizations, including the modern American Mafia, and various other criminal cliques. Widespread disregard of the law also generated rampant corruption among politicians and within police forces.’ SOURCE:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prohibition_in_the_United_States

Banning so-called assault weapons (otherwise known as ‘scary looking’ weapons) does next to nothing to reduce gun crime. The Justice Department’s interviews also showed so-called ‘assault weapons ‘are not a major cause of gun violence. Only about 8 percent of the inmates used one of the models covered in the now-expired assault weapons ban… .’

Consider this: ‘Meanwhile, a study released by the Justice Department suggesting background checks at gun shows would do little to keep firearms out of the hands of criminals.

The study noted the number of criminals who obtained guns from retail outlets was dwarfed by the number of those who picked up their arms through means other than legal purchases. The report was the result of interviews with more than 18,000 state and federal inmates conducted nationwide. It found that nearly 80 percent of those interviewed got their guns from friends or family members, or on the street through illegal purchases.’

As I write this in my office, behind me on my desk are five containers of ammunition from 30 caliber to 12 gauge double-ought buckshot. Leaning against the wall is one of my guns — well within an arm’s length. Visitors to my office think nothing of it. It is a way of life. I began shooting at the age of six. I am always armed either with an edged weapon or a firearm.

Let’s be clear. ASKING gun owners to give up their guns is insulting. DEMANDING that we give them up is going to get someone hurt.

I realize the words above are strong. That is intentional. I am trying to convey to gun control advocates and the Mainstream Media the seriousness of what they are doing and the indelicate manner in which the are approaching the issue. DEMANDING that an American citizen give up a constitutional right is bad enough, but demanding that he give up a constitutional right upon which his freedom and his very life may depend is the ultimate insult and is nothing less than an assault on the constitution itself. This we cannot, we will not, abide.

A note to our national legislators. Those of you supporting gun control legislation should understand it will be a career-ending move on your part. We will brook no such unpleasant nonsense from you.
Gun owners did not seek this fight. We most certainly did not initiate it. Too, we are sick, ad nauseum, of your continuous attacks on our way of life, on our constitutional as well as God given rights as American citizens, and we are sick, beyond words, of your elitist attitude.

As red-blooded Americans have done throughout our history, we will avoid a fight for as long as it is practicable to do so. But when the fight is brought to us we WILL engage with our considerable resources with one goal in mind and that is the utter defeat of our adversary, and a guarantee that the conflict will never be resuscitated, EVER, again.

Molṑn lab ( Molon Labe) is a classical expression of defiance reportedly spoken by King Leonidas I in response to the Persian army’s demand that the Spartans surrender their weapons at the Battle of Thermopylae.
I am seeing more and more e-mails and commentaries on blogs, all over the Internet theses days, close with these two words of defiance. It has quickly become the signature phrase for gun control resistance.
So what does molon labe mean? Well, it is an invitation — and a challenge — all rolled into one. From the original Greek molon labe means: Come and take em.

This is a struggle gun owners of America did not seek, do not want, but — intend to win decisively.

J. D. Longstreet
