Feds: Jackson Jr. Stole $750K in Campaign Funds

(Newser) – Looks like Jesse Jackson Jr. didn't exactly work out a sweetheart plea deal for himself. Prosecutors intend to recommend 46 to 57 months of prison time for the former congressman, along with a fine of between $10,000 and $100,000, Politico reports. As part of the deal, Jackson admits to having conspired with his wife to illegally spend $750,000 in campaign money on such vagaries as fur coats, airplane tickets, a $43,000 Rolex watch, celebrity memorabilia, booze, cigars, and even groceries.

Jackson was formally charged today with felonies including conspiracy, reports the Chicago Tribune. His wife, former Chicago Alderman Sandi Jackson, was charged with filing false tax returns. No public money is believed to have been included in the $750,000 of misused funds, at least some of which will be forfeited as part of the sentence. "I offer no excuses for my conduct and I fully accept my responsibility for the improper decisions and mistakes I have made," Jackson said in a statement.

"vying..top level job"

To be a top Dem today, your resume looks a lot better with federal indictments for thievery of public funds, sex with an underage girl or boy, or just common criminal activity. Bill Ayers would probably get places in todays Dem Party.

And the guy who taught him his thievery, extortioner extraordinaire The Revrund Jacksun Sr

skates!

I’d much rather see him in prison for life that his pitiable offspring. How could the spawn of a criminal mind like Jesse Sr. even have a chance to know right from wrong?

Free Junior Jackson! Lock up Daddy and throw away the key.

Who doesn’t think that this criminal would STILL get elected from his prison cell if he ran again? (by his criminal constituents.)

Years ago, JJ Jr. and his wife were on an HGTV SHow having their house in Chicago re-done!! It was a HUGE house as I recall and VERY nice.......wonder who paid for THAT???

Did I just see pigs FLY??? A Jackson NOT skating??? Well, his wife probably will........and why does he just have to repay only $100,000 when he stole $750,000.00???

How much money did Jesse Jackass Senior steal from his foundation to pay the baby mama of his bastard child? How much jail time did he serve for his crime?

As long as he and his wife are in Club Fed, they'll be warm, well fed.....and safe from the bullets that come sweepin' cross the drains in his district in Chicawgo.

I thought the first million was OK if you are an elected official. Mandate and all that, you know.

I am sure daddy feels utterly disgraced. Can you imagine the shame: your own son and namesake getting caught?
