President Obama didnt make any phone calls the night of the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, the White House said in a letter to Congress released Thursday.
During the entire attack, the president of the United States never picked up the phone to put the weight of his office in the mix, said Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, who had held up Mr. Obamas defense secretary nominee to force the information to be released.
Mr. Graham said that if Mr. Obama had picked up the phone, at least two of the Americans killed in the attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi might still be alive because he might have been able to push U.S. aid to get to the scene faster.
The White House has said Mr. Obama was kept up to date on the attack by his staff, though after being alerted to the attack in a pre-scheduled afternoon meeting he never spoke again with the defense secretary or the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Fairly obvious Obama was comfortably snoozing on a four beer buzz resting up for a trip to Las Vegas while Americans were being murdered.
He does not give a crap.
I think even the stress of pretending to be present would have been too much for this POTUSINO, especially because he needed his beauty rest before the big fund raiser. I suspect high-powered “sleep aids” were involved.
Right, resign in disgrace!
I wonder if there any blacks killed in Fast & Furious? As long as it’s just crackers being killed, he’s home free.
You’re right! Nixon did resign, and no one died, and this pos aught to as well. I would like to hear those in Congress saying exactly that! Resign NOW!!!
Dereliction of Duty, Unfit for command!!
I completely agree, but I don’t think he will ever do that. Even if impeached, it will have to be someone else’s fault, he isn’t capable of taking responsibility.
You’re right, however, impeachment starts in the House. It’s up to the GOP.
Good points all. I get sick and tired of people here moaning that its all hopeless - or worse, actually complaining because it’s Lindsay Graham who is being most aggressive about this and not somebody more to their liking.
Bit by bit it’s coming out. Now we know that neither Obama nor Hillary were there or even reachable, and furthermore that Obama flat out lied in saying that he called people or was even following the crisis. Personally, I think he was following it through some source, probably in company of Jarrett or some of the other radicals who must sleep outside his bedroom door. But it was working out in a way that he didn’t mind, he didn’t want to be connected to any decision involving it, and once he knew the Ambassador was dead, he decided it was better just to go to bed and leave orders not to be disturbed. That way he can zip out the door with his suitcase early in the morning, look shocked (but not too) when he is told about it, and maintain his distance from the whole thing.
So far evasiveness has worked. And Hillary’s aggressive stonewalling has also protected him. But these things can only go on for so long, because there are a lot of people who know the truth, and if the investigators keep on going, more and more of these people will weaken and drop little bits of what they know.
I also think Obama should be called to testify himself, if that’s possible.
Out of commission for some reason. Pretty scary stuff, China could invade and he could be “not taking calls”.
Why would he call anyone? He’d probably been told the consulate was ablaze and muslim terrorists were killing Americans. To Obama, that’s a productive night.
Under the influence? Of something? That’s my guess.
THANK YOU! WHY the heck won't any Republican "e" or TParty get on the senate/house floor and ask just that???? I am sick to death of tip-toe elected representatives hiding under their desks ignoring all this.
Where are the 20-30 other people flown out of Benghazi that night? No where to be seen, no list of who it was and it's so obvious to most here on FR that it WAS gun-running, met with the Turkish ambassador - what was that conversation, on and on and 100 other questions that no one is asking. Valerie IS running this country and all our money is being drained from those evil rich folks, sending it all to anyone who supports Islam and/or supports this prez. Sick isn't it? Then toss in stretch Pelosi's comment about reducing congress salary "is beneath the dignity of the office". Total Barf Alert from that #%&^*( person.
You are so correct. Judge Napalitano on FOX yesterday indicated that the constitution does not allow for Congress to call the president for questioning. I didn’t know that. BUT what the heck... why no reporters, no one at all? Is it possible that so many threats have been laid out there to the press “corpse” so that they won’t ask these questions?
Exit82 - right on... call every congressman and let them hear from you. And yes, stop all this hand wringing. It’s time for OUR generation to save this great country. Let’s do it!
His Dereliction of Duty is devastating to morale in the military.. Oh wait.. Never mind. He’s busy fixing that by promoting gays and females in combat! /s
Oh, but this was JUST a consulate and he was drunk. Had it been Fla he would have been sober and would have sprang into action, right?
If Benghazi was about gunrunning of Surface Air Missles, then it could explain why Obama has not been jetsetting around the world since Libya went down
0bama committed treason by failing to protect and defend a U.S. installation and it's occupants for fear of a possible failed rescue attempt impacting his re-election bid.
All of Congress is complicit by failing to impeach. IMPEACH!
