BREAKING: Obama made no phone calls on night of Benghazi attack, White House says
Washington Times ^ | February 14, 2013 | Stephan Dinan

Posted on 02/14/2013 1:19:27 PM PST by gwgn02

President Obama didn’t make any phone calls the night of the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, the White House said in a letter to Congress released Thursday.

“During the entire attack, the president of the United States never picked up the phone to put the weight of his office in the mix,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, who had held up Mr. Obama’s defense secretary nominee to force the information to be released.

Mr. Graham said that if Mr. Obama had picked up the phone, at least two of the Americans killed in the attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi might still be alive because he might have been able to push U.S. aid to get to the scene faster.

The White House has said Mr. Obama was kept up to date on the attack by his staff, though after being alerted to the attack in a pre-scheduled afternoon meeting he never spoke again with the defense secretary or the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

“Bush and Cheney and Condi would have been up all night dealing with this.”

Fairly obvious Obama was comfortably snoozing on a four beer buzz resting up for a trip to Las Vegas while Americans were being murdered.

He does not give a crap.

I agree, however impeachment is not enough. As we have learned from Clinton, when impeached, these dems, or in this case marxist, do not leave office once impeached. He needs to be forced to resign, no less! ABSOLUTE Dereliction of Duty by a Commander n chief.

I think even the stress of pretending to be present would have been too much for this POTUSINO, especially because he needed his beauty rest before the big fund raiser. I suspect high-powered “sleep aids” were involved.

You’re right! Nixon did resign, and no one died, and this pos aught to as well. I would like to hear those in Congress saying exactly that! Resign NOW!!!

I completely agree, but I don’t think he will ever do that. Even if impeached, it will have to be someone else’s fault, he isn’t capable of taking responsibility.

I think it is pretty plain to see that the whole Benghazi incident, with ALL the pertinent details, was held off until after the election. We saw him lie to America in the second debate with Candy Crawley and Romney failed to press him on it. Had he done so, who knows, the election just may have turned out different. We'll never know and I HIGHLY doubt the Demoncrats in Congress would allow a movement for impeachment to see the light of day. It's too late! We will have to endure this atrocious excuse of a president for FOUR MORE YEARS and fight him with everything we've got! God help us as there is no telling what he is thinking of doing to this great country.

You’re right, however, impeachment starts in the House. It’s up to the GOP.

Good points all. I get sick and tired of people here moaning that its all hopeless - or worse, actually complaining because it’s Lindsay Graham who is being most aggressive about this and not somebody more to their liking.

Bit by bit it’s coming out. Now we know that neither Obama nor Hillary were there or even reachable, and furthermore that Obama flat out lied in saying that he called people or was even following the crisis. Personally, I think he was following it through some source, probably in company of Jarrett or some of the other radicals who must sleep outside his bedroom door. But it was working out in a way that he didn’t mind, he didn’t want to be connected to any decision involving it, and once he knew the Ambassador was dead, he decided it was better just to go to bed and leave orders not to be disturbed. That way he can zip out the door with his suitcase early in the morning, look shocked (but not too) when he is told about it, and maintain his distance from the whole thing.

So far evasiveness has worked. And Hillary’s aggressive stonewalling has also protected him. But these things can only go on for so long, because there are a lot of people who know the truth, and if the investigators keep on going, more and more of these people will weaken and drop little bits of what they know.

I also think Obama should be called to testify himself, if that’s possible.

Out of commission for some reason. Pretty scary stuff, China could invade and he could be “not taking calls”.

Why would he call anyone? He’d probably been told the consulate was ablaze and muslim terrorists were killing Americans. To Obama, that’s a productive night.

“Cut to the chase and ask them what President Jarrett did and whom she was in touch with. We all know Obama’s just a pawn on the big, Marxist chessboard.”

THANK YOU! WHY the heck won't any Republican "e" or TParty get on the senate/house floor and ask just that???? I am sick to death of tip-toe elected representatives hiding under their desks ignoring all this.

Where are the 20-30 other people flown out of Benghazi that night? No where to be seen, no list of who it was and it's so obvious to most here on FR that it WAS gun-running, met with the Turkish ambassador - what was that conversation, on and on and 100 other questions that no one is asking. Valerie IS running this country and all our money is being drained from those evil rich folks, sending it all to anyone who supports Islam and/or supports this prez. Sick isn't it? Then toss in stretch Pelosi's comment about reducing congress salary "is beneath the dignity of the office". Total Barf Alert from that #%&^*( person.

This is an impeachable offense.”

You are so correct. Judge Napalitano on FOX yesterday indicated that the constitution does not allow for Congress to call the president for questioning. I didn’t know that. BUT what the heck... why no reporters, no one at all? Is it possible that so many threats have been laid out there to the press “corpse” so that they won’t ask these questions?

Exit82 - right on... call every congressman and let them hear from you. And yes, stop all this hand wringing. It’s time for OUR generation to save this great country. Let’s do it!

The real story here would be the reason for the coverup.

If Benghazi was about gunrunning of Surface Air Missles, then it could explain why Obama has not been jetsetting around the world since Libya went down

It's almost unimaginable that a U.S. president would be so wrapped up in his own political future (election) that he would be willfully negligent in the deaths of the two Americans (Doherty and Woods). Stevens and Smith were already dead, but the other two were enduring a 7 hour firefight, waiting for back-up that ONLY 0bama could authorize.

0bama committed treason by failing to protect and defend a U.S. installation and it's occupants for fear of a possible failed rescue attempt impacting his re-election bid.

All of Congress is complicit by failing to impeach. IMPEACH!
