The hope is that by soiling a white dress, that the dress is less white.

Dresses, however, can be cleaned.

Typical Catholic, try to silence your critics with personal attacks.

That and being overly apologetic about pedophiles clergy.

I try to hide my disdain, but occasionally hints of it escape.

...haha...like the way Vesuvius let hints of eruption escape somewhere near Pompei...

I’m a sinner but I’ve never raped children or protected those that do.

Many of your clergy on the other hand can’t say that...

I responded to a post accusing Freepers of rampant anti-Catholic hate. I honestly and respectfully gave my impressions in response.

If that disturbs your peace, it’s not my problem.

“Don’t blame us, everyone systemically rapes children.”

...you are rare indeed, you can read messages in posts that aren’t even there...exceptional skill, remarkable...

...the normal person who read my post would fail to see the part where I absolved Catholics of blame, because the normal person has not honed his skill so as to see the invisible, but then, a normal person is just that, normal...

...while you, sir, are anything but normal...

It bothers me when people refer to the Galileo episode without apparently bothering to research what actually happened.

http://freerepublic.com/focus/news/2431080/posts?page=11#11

Not exactly canonization (for either Urban or Galileo!) but neither was it the melodramatic myth of "dogma" vs "science" purveyed by people who don't know jack chick about either.

“so let me rephrase...you don’t hate Catholics, you hate people who do bad things, and you likewise hate those whom you infer do not hate them as much as you do...”

You want to apologize for child molesters and hold them in high esteem that is your business.

But don’t come on here blasting me because I hold a deep wish that they be held accountable for the atrocities ..those that actually molested and the ones they aided and abetted by covering up the disgusting acts.

You know a Priest is a child molester but you let him continue to molest for the good of the Universal Church.

Sheesh, I hope GOD didn’t tell the Pope to let Child Molesters go unrestrained for years.

The last Pope had a good friend that was a Sexual Deviant and Child Molester.

Saint Malachy's "prophesies" were more than likely a hoax:

Do the prophecies of St. Malachy suggest we are living in the end times?

Full Question

Someone in my parish told me about the prophesies of St. Malachy, which he claims, prove that we are nearing the end of times. What are these prophesies?

Answer

St. Malachy was an Irish bishop who lived in the 12th century. By far the more famous of his prophecies concerns the sequence of popes.

The prophecy consist of 112 short Latin descriptions of future popes; the prophecies were discovered in 1590 and attributed to Malachy. Each description indicates one identifying trait for each future pope, beginning with Celestine II, who was elected in 1130. In some instances, the descriptions hit home in an uncanny way; they have led to centuries of speculation that the prophecy might be a real one.

For instance, the description of the future John XXII (1316-1334) is "de sutore osseo"--"from the bony shoemaker." This pope was the son of a shoemaker, and his family name was "Ossa," which means bone. In another example, "lilium et rosa" was the phrase used to describe the pope who would be Urban VIII (1623-1644), whose family coat-of-arms was covered with "lilies and roses."

Malachy's prophecy has been cast into doubt by the fact that the descriptions become vague from the 16th century on--about the time the prophecy was "discovered" in the Roman Archives. But there have been a few good matches in modern times. The phrase "pastor et nauta," meaning "shepherd and sailor," was attributed to John XXIII. This pope hailed from Venice, historically a city of sailors, and on the day he took office he indicated the goal of his pontificate was to be "a good shepherd."

There have been many more misses, though. Describing the popes to follow John XXIII are the phrases "flower of flowers" (Paul VI), "from a half-moon" (John Paul I), and "from the toil of the sun" (John Paul II), none of which is an obvious connection. After our current pope there are only two left in Malachy's prophecy, "the glory of the olive" and "Peter the Roman." The latter will supposedly lead the Church through many tribulations, concluding with the last judgment.

Is "Malachy's" prophecy legitimate? Probably not. The consensus among modern scholars is that it is a 16th-century forgery created for partisan political reasons.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/apr/10/pope-paedophile-priests-cover-up

Kiesle was sentenced in 1978 to three years’ probation after pleading no contest to charges of lewd conduct for tying up and molesting two young boys in a San Francisco rectory.

In 1981 he asked to leave the priesthood, a request backed by his diocese, which forwarded the papers to Rome. In 1982, Oakland bishop John Cummins urged Ratzinger, as head of the Vatican’s congregation for the doctrine of the faith, to grant the request.

But the case was still pending in 1985 when Ratzinger wrote to Cummins that although the argument for defrocking Kiesle was of “grave significance”, it was necessary “to submit incidents of this sort to very careful consideration, which necessitates a longer period of time”.

Another priest, George Mockel, wrote to Cummins: “My own reading of this letter is that basically they are going to sit on it until Steve gets quite a bit older,” reported AP.

Kiesle was finally removed in 1987, but in the meantime had carried out volunteer work with children through the church. He was arrested and charged in 2002 with 13 counts of child molestation from the 1970s, but all but two were thrown out after the US supreme court struck down as unconstitutional a California law extending the statute of limitations. He was later sentenced to six years in jail in 2004 for molesting a young girl in 1995. He is now 63 and a registered sex offender

You are correct, Ratzinger had NOTHING to do with bringing serial pedophile Father Lawrence Murphy to justice. Neither did Cardinal Bertone who got his secret canonical trial stopped because hey, he was sorry for raping all those boys.

I'm curious how many boys in this photo were raped by Murphy, facing you back left. The guy your beloved Pope let walk...
