The Second Amendment has always had fair-weather friends. LaRue Tactical, manufacturers of firearms and firearm accessories, is one company that will never be accused of being our fair-weather friend. When New York State passed its unconstitutional anti-gun law, LaRue swung into action. In a move reminiscent of Barrett Firearms’ banning of all sales to California law enforcement (http://www.thegunzone.com/rkba/rkba-50.html) after California banned .50BMG rifles, LaRue has stated that it will not sell anything to local law enforcement that it can’t sell to you and me.
In a news release dated 2-8-13, LaRue states:
Effective today, in an effort to see that no legal mistakes are made by LaRue Tactical and/or its employees, we will apply all current State and Local Laws (as applied to civilians) to state and local law enforcement / government agencies. In other words, LaRue Tactical will limit all sales to what law-abiding citizens residing in their districts can purchase or possess.

Lest you think that LaRue, more famous for accessories than anything else, is making an empty statement, take a look at the AR style rifles they manufacture (http://www.laruetactical.com/rifles). New York banned them for sale to citizens, so LaRue won’t sell them to the NYPD either. Will other firearm manufacturers have the guts to stand up like LaRue and Barrett do?

All of these pistols are equipped with a greater than 7-round magazine, making them illegal for sale to law-abiding New York residents.

• Send the following letter to SIG, Smith & Wesson, and Glock and ask them to follow LaRue Tactical’s lead. Tell them to adopt the same rule: If it can’t be sold to citizens, it won’t be sold to State and local government.

Recently New York rushed an ill-advised and unconstitutional law infringing on the rights of law-abiding gun owners. Other states are poised to write similar laws. I urge you to follow the lead of LaRue Tactical which has adopted this policy: If it can’t be sold to law-abiding citizens, it won’t be sold to state and local police agencies either.
There are 800,000 sworn police officers in the entire United States. The FBI reports a total of 2,495,440 NICS checks, and thus firearms sales, in January alone. Police sales are not your major business. It’s time for firearm manufacturers to send a clear message that you will not participate in the slow erosion of our Second Amendment rights.

Sounds nice, but this now puts the Feds at an advantage over state and local in firepower.
Kudos to La Rue. Hopefully others contracts as suppliers for LEO organizations aren’t too lucrative to the point of them not being able to afford excluding these states. I still have a hard time believing that some of the biggest gun makers still have facilities in some of these places. If they could afford it, they should move to more firearm friendly places. With the “vibrant” economy such as it is, how big an economic hit would there be if these folks are run out of business as well as all the associated businesses/suppliers? Ninety nine weeks of unemployment ain’t squat compared to the job you had. Thankfully hussein will “take care” of us.
That’s what I’m thinking. The US isn’t the sole manufacturer of NATO weapons and ammunition. If these manufacturers were smart, they would make and distribute weapons and ammo in standard calibers, and distribute them up to the state level LEO’s only, (i.e. hunting and US common handgun calibers). But the point is moot, because at the first sign of resistance or teouble, the feds will either commandeer their manufacturing operation, or destroy it.
These states weren't going to be very helpful against the Feds, anyway.

Good for them. I wish the other gun manufacturers would move their operations to gun-friendly states, now that they’re making tons of cash again.
For every second that goes by since the passage of the 1986 gun control act, you and all the citizens of this country have been placed at a distinct disadvantage to every military and law enforcement entity in the country, to include the epa, forest service, park service etc.
By strictly limiting the sale or purchase of machine guns by citizens to those manufactured before 1986. A very finite number, that at some date in the future will make machince guns illegal as the supply dries up.
THE NFA needs to be repealed before GI Joe is rendered (no pun intended) null and void. Legal small arms sales to government should also be allowed to those who are the government, and if you don’t understand the position, refer to the founding documents that comprise the supreme law of the land.
...and speaking of picking winners and losers, anyone like to speculate on the price of a Thompson Submachine gun in todays world had the NFA not been drawn up because gangsters were killing gangsters. How about an MP5 in every garage had the 1986 law not been passed.
Anyone like to wax poetic on just where the NRA was hiding when both pieces of Legislation were reacking havoc with “shall not be infringed”. Oh the hugh manitee.

There are a disproportionate number of women’s groups in that list. That indicates to me that their objections are based in emotion. My wife hates it when I say it but the worst thing we ever did was allow women to vote. Before you fly off the handle calling me a sexist just imagine a world where there never was a President Jimmy Carter, Billy Clinton or Baraq Ubama. Imagine what America would be like had none of these three, nor most of the liberal in both houses, had never been elected.
This paper examines the growth of government during this century as a result of giving women the right to vote. Using cross-sectional time-series data for 1870 to 1940, we examine state government expenditures and revenue as well as voting by U.S. House and Senate state delegations and the passage of a wide range of different state laws. Suffrage coincided with immediate increases in state government expenditures and revenue and more liberal voting patterns for federal representatives, and these effects continued growing over time as more women took advantage of the franchise. Contrary to many recent suggestions, the gender gap is not something that has arisen since the 1970s, and it helps explain why American government started growing when it did.
