In one single day (5 Feb 13), Rep Eric Cantor endorsed amnesty for an estimated 1.2 million illegal between the ages of 18-30. These invaders have broken our laws, busted down our fences, overwhelmed our schools and hospitals, and have spit our America's sovereignty.

On that same day (5 Feb 13), a Fox News interviewer asked Cantor if he would endorse alleviating the looming Sequestration cuts that inordinately punish our Defense budget (Dept of Defense is 17% of the budget and takes 50% of the cuts, with the Defense Dept being a Constitutional agency). The Joint Chiefs have repeatedly pleaded to Congress to stop these cuts. They are our nation's experts in the military, and have said they would 'gut and hollow' the military.

Cantor smirked, and told Fox News: "Absolutely not!" on camera.

There you have it so-called Conservatives. Amnesty = Good. Defense = Bad.

Castro continued: “I would disagree with the categorization of that as the extreme. The extreme, I would say, just to fill that out, would be open borders.”

Impossible to say if Cantor is really serious about citizenship or if this is just part of the GOPs’ new tone to ‘talk compassionate’ wo changing policies.

Guest worker program???
How about tapping those ~ 900 thousand on SS disability as guest workers instead? A record high are getting those benefits.

Eric you siad youirself “those who were brought to this country as children” so they came from some other home meaning THEY DO HAVE ANOTHER HOME THAT THEY KNEW AT SOME TIME

as for punishing them “for the mistakes of their parents” do you really dismiss the criminal action of crossing our borders illegally and then just staying here as a mistake ???

Anyhoo when the children reach 18 they are not connected to their parents crimes AKA “misttakes” If they are still in our country as adults they are now illegal aliens in their own right so to speak, they are causing their own crime of illegally being here errr again “mistakes”

Well if they were 5 when brought here and are now 20 then they only know one home here esp after getting 13 years of public school here. If they were 17 then its different .

If bank robbers brought their 6 year old kid with them on the robbery few would call for prosecuting them at 20 because 'now they are adults',.
And less would take them serious.

Now maybe if the US deported them and relatives soon as they came over starting 40 years ago it might work, but now after years of this as well as Reagan amnesty you got many millions of legal hispanic voters who dont take kindly to those running for election calling those who they see 'look and sound just like them' 'criminals' because they were brought olong on those robbery's at 6. You see how well 'self deportation' worked for Mitt in the general.

I'd be thankful if we successfully just keep them from voting.

To put this in context, don’t say “amnesty for illegal aliens”. Instead, say “amnesty for Mexican citizens.”

It is a somewhat different context, but one that might resonate more with the typical American.

This is because the expression “illegal aliens” has become somewhat exhausted as a term because of its frequent use, without any resolution.

But they are Mexicans from Mexico. And so, since the Democrats are trying to get rid of the term “illegal aliens” and replace it with something that sounds more benign, like “undocumented immigrant”, confront them with a replacement that is far *less* sympathetic or benign.

I woke up a few days ago, and the world turned upside down.

The Democrats (including the pragmatic Leon Panetta) are the ones ringing the alarm for our nation's military, but the Republicans have "embraced" the cuts.

Stranger yet, the Republicans have become the "Me Too!" defenders of the welfare state and amnesty.

I used to laugh at third party ideas as kooky and unproductive.

Maybe it's time to reevaluate.
