Zer0 probably only wants bone smugglers in the service.

At least he didn’t ‘commit suicide’ like SEAL team #4 leader did (Job Price).

I suspect he answered: “NO!!!” to Bronco’s question about firing upon American citizens.

Didn't Saddam Hussein do something like this when he beheaded his Army of its best officers?

In this case though, I have a nagging suspicion that Mattis said he would not fire on US citizens.... if ordered to do so by an out-of-control tyrant.

I really wish that these Generals would stay in service and fight these policies that they oppose. If not, they should be very vocal about their reasons for retiring when they leave the service. Many changes have happened to the armed forces that will reduce their fighting effectiveness. The two biggest changes, openly serving gays and females in combat units, have been/will be implemented without any serious public opposition. That is wrong. Our military leadership is failing us in so many ways. It makes me sick.

If we know these guys, they will always be prepared for what is coming.

as for why he was treated so disrespectfully...

“In another post, Ricks says Mattis was fired because:

Pentagon insiders say that he rubbed civilian officials the wrong way — not because he went all “mad dog,” which is his public image, and the view at the White House, but rather because he pushed the civilians so hard on considering the second- and third-order consequences of military action against Iran. Some of those questions apparently were uncomfortable. Like, what do you do with Iran once the nuclear issue is resolved and it remains a foe? What do you do if Iran then develops conventional capabilities that could make it hazardous for U.S. Navy ships to operate in the Persian Gulf? He kept saying, “And then what?”

I am anxious to see guys like that step forward into the political arena. Like Allen West, their voices need to be heard.

You can’t blame someone for wanting some peace and quiet after a career that keeps you away from home for years on end, but we still need them.
