Laughing as my 4 year old is literally jumping off the furniture as I type.
My wife was put on Trazadone and Zoloft for clinical depressin and PTSD. She also has severe neurological damage as she is a quadriplegic. She started becoming agitated and confused after about a month or two of taking these medications. I took her to the Shrink. He saw her in that state maybe five minutes and doubled the Zoloft. Before I could get her home she was hallucinating.
I took her to the ER at that hospital named after a Saint. They were also supposed to be running a mental health care unit. The attending doctor in the ER refused any and all blood work and treatment and called the State Mobile Crisis Team. As her husband I could not sign for her treatment. While waiting I made calls to family. When I came back in to the ER to check she was in a exam room unconscious and I could not bring her around. I yelled for the staff and doctor. I told the doctor do something she has a very serious medical history including heart issues. He just stood there. He refused to act.
We loaded her up and went to the big level one hospital across the river. The one ran by the university. They acted fast and got her conscious again but she was not coherent. I said please do blood works and a CAT SCAN or MRI this is not right. I said the other hospital refused. They then balked and said we are calling Mobile Crisis.
I talked to Mobile after this time 12 hours had passed and her Blood Pressure and Pulse were off the charts. They denied the hospitals request for a mental facility transfer.
They at first took her off of all medications. Within 48 hours she was OK. In walks a shrink whom she never heard of and says I thing your Zoloft needs doubled.
The next day at noon the nurse gave it to her. By 1:00 she was incoherent again. That night she was thrashing andad to be restrained. The next day my dad came so I could go get some rest. I stopped in the hospital chapek for a prayer and went home. When I got home for some reason I went on line and typed in Trazadone+Zoloft +Adverse reaction and got the information I needed and lots of it too from very credible sources. I printed the info, called my dad and said tell them I said stop all meds I'm on my way back in.
I got to the hospital and asked to speak to the floor supervisor a RN. I showed her the article and I said I'm certain this is it and it can kill her unless we act. I said please call the doctor. She said our doctors only come in once a day he will be here in the morning. I said OK these are my orders as her husband and they will be honored. You are not to give her any medications but Ativan without my expressed permission.
The next morning their doctor came in madder than a wet hen and demanded to know why I had refused her his orders. I said doctor please read this. He glanced at it and said that's pure Rubbish. I said OK the doctor your Pharmacology Professor is a liar then? He looked again and recognized the authors name. I said you will not give her any antidepressants. That night she was again back to normal.
The next morning six days after onset they finally gave her a MRI which revealed two bleeders in her brain an old one and one likely caused by the antidepressants.
Serotonin Syndrome is real and the hallucinations of the patients are their reality. It can be as powerful as LSD from what I was seeing. My wife afterward told me she thought she was Tess on Touched By An Angel. What if she was a teenage kid and thought she was some horror film character?
Even the current top doctor of the county health department whom at that time was in private practice and our primary care doctor was not even consulted in all that time also knows it's real. She saw the aftermath and was quite shaken. My wife still has partial amnesia from it. It is not tin foil kookery it is a very dangerous reaction. Antidepressants in some persons can be very dangerous and even deadly. The can also save peoples lives. But doctors need to dig deeper before prescribing them. As well Patients and family need to be warned of possible adverse reactions.
Benzos such as Valium, Ativan, Xanax are the countering medications to stop this reaction. I knew it the doctors did not. They never heard of Serotonin Syndrome.

However I know a lot more about what is not ADD/ADHD but is an epidemic mistaken as ADD ADHD. There are a high number of kids and adults out there with undiagnosed Sensory Processing Disorders or Central Auditory Processing Disorders. C.A.P.D. for shot.
Im now over 50% hearing loss, I have poor balance, I've had life long poor coordination, and I had a fear of heights. All the above point to Inner Ear or Vestibular disorders. Nobody bothered to look there though. These patients have short attention spans as well. Certain auditory and/or visual situations can trigger cognitive results such as anxiety, depression, agitation, etc. For these patients both child and adult Ritalin and antidepressants both are useless and can make matters worse.
Generally the damage is in the Cerebellar/Vestibular System where the Inner Ear and brain interact. The Inner Ear may also be damaged. This will affect in many cases their hearing, how they process what they hear, and even visual issues.
Big Pharm does not come to play here however because there is no pill that can stop it. Usually the Inner Ear issues are caused by physical issues such as chronic sinus allergies or chronic ear infections. that must be treated to stop further damage though.
I mentioned in my previous posting on this threat at one time I took antidepressants. I was diagnosed 18 years ago with General Anxiety Disorder. My first medication was Xanax 2MG twice a day which worked almost 12 hours a day. Doctors insisted I needed anti depressants. They made me sick, my head hurt, I became agiated etc and it made my problem of every time I heard certain tones or certain visual events start jerking in my upper torso as hit with a bucket of ice water.
Two years into this I found a book written by a man who is both a Neurologist and Psychiatrist who had been researching ADD ADHD and anxiety disorders. BTW as a kid they said I had ADD ADHD.
I read his book. He links most anxiety disorders to undiagnosed Vestibular Disorders. In my case very much so. Only by finding that book was I able to get the proper help I needed.
I was born with some sensory processing damage and sinus allergies over time made that worse. I am one eye functional. Meaning I can use both eyes to see but never at the same time.
The jerking or spasms are actually Myoclonic Seizures I would learn a few more years down the road. These seizures are triggered again by sight and sound. I believe this medical condition has existed for duration of mankind. Even in the 1970's most kids and adults were not bothered by it.
The epidemic is a technology triggered one. TV shows changed as did more intense special effects. Stores became more noisy as PA systems were added as well as places like Lowes etc back up alarms and door alarms. Mickey D's added fryers with high pitch alarms to tell the workers the fries were done. Video games came along, so did high wattage stereo systems. All of it added together I believe is what is triggering the so called ADD ADHD epidemic.
Here is some good news. If a parent suspects their child having ADD ADHD make the Shrink the last stop. Make the doctor the first stop. Make the second stop at an Audiologist trained in doing C.A.P.D. testing. If Audiologist says C.A.P.D. find the cause it is physical in nature. However this is not getting done. There is also no special funding for schools with a CAPD student. The childs classroom environment has to be changed. Move the kid to the head of the class. These kids can read lips faster many times than they can hear and process it.
Any kid for example playing a video game and becomes agitated or behavior changes watching TV including cartoons it could be this.
For my treatment after firing five doctors one finally had seen patients like me before. He took me off all antidepressants and put me on low dose Xanax four times a day. Low dose meaning .5mg four times a day. Not a cure but it controls seizures and Panic Attacks.
Not exactly a "top psychiatrist" in my book.

Whatever the Doctor's 'case'; he does not appear to contradict current medical wisdom - albeit; a 'wisdom' ignored. And as bad - or archaic - as ECT appears; it is returning in popularity; inasmuch as ECT does often succeed/out perform; drugs for treatment of deep depression in patients where drugs have not worked or have not been wanted or advised.
Given how often fraud compromises 'scientific inquiry' so as to perp an agenda; we should always maintain a healthy skepticism. The question - the implication of - of 'drug therapies; the 'fact' of drug presence in many of the young 'perps' per murderous campaigns; however; has long been noted. If only to be; dismissed; overlooked; in favor of those MO's which grip; influence and too often; 'drive' popular opinion. This we know; regardless of the public messenger.
We know too; like all 'events' when they burst into our 'reality'; there is more than ONE reason. And politicians with determined agenda's; tend to seize on that; which best serves their MO and goals; while ignoring more the more pertinent; critical and often, simply obvious.
Too many 'crickets chirping'; when it comes to using Alan Lanzas as a 'tool' or excuse for 'left-wing agenda' per diminishing our Constitution; the Rights afforded; contained therein; and punitively targeting law-abiding citizens for exercising their Constitutional Rights. Leftist MO's; designed to disarm and disempower citizens, in the 'face' of Leftist/Marxist/Progressive. . .totalitarian 'will'.
