I say attack in another direction they’re not expecting. Concentrate forces on something that will make Obama look bad. Pit him against Israel or something.
What would be more powerful would be a series of commercials where average people have used firearms to defend themselves and their family.
Imagine a father talking about how he defended his family from a home invasion.
A woman who protected herself from a rapist.
A grandmother who shot a mugger.
Then throw some powerful stats at the end of each.
If that's your idea of how best to preserve them, you don't deserve them.
Your gun rights will disappear when:
1. You hand your gun over to the enemy and throw yourself on their mercy.
2. You fall over dead beside your gun, slain by the enemy.
Until either of those occur, you have the right, regardless of what some sheet of paper says.
The timing on these latest gun attacks is just unbelievably bad for defenders of the second ammendment and provides more fuel for Obama’s anti-gun agenda just at the time he needs it.

I have a theory and I believe in the days to come it will become apparent there is truth in it. I think you are going to begin to see staged shootings at universities and schools in the next few weeks to assist the bingo trol agenda. Do I think the Obama administration is capable of this. Absolutely. Do I think they will tell the students to shoot other students? You bet. Why? Because he wants to get the job done and the ends are a way to get to the means. So what if a few children have to die to meet his goals? It’s for the greater good of all humanity! Do I think it would be hard for his administration to find thugs to do the shootings. Not in today’s world.

Obama solidifies his base, makes the Republicans look bad among supporters who otherwise might stray, and makes himself look "decisive" and "determined."
Of course, enough anti-gun publicity now might make a move in the future easier. I don't know if assault weapons are the place to make a counter-move, though.

I think many patriots are over estimating their strength, while underestimating a military that very likely is purging those they don't trust to follow orders to deploy on American soil. At the same time they have a unit trained to operate on U.S. soil that is probably watched closely.
Our military has had training exercises on American soil that involving foreign troops, including Russian troops in what was a first. Obama would love to humiliate the country he hates by using Russian forces to occupy our soil if given the opportunity.
I assume our government has detailed plans that are already in place for an attack against us. Considering that some federal forces seem to be preparing for a sizable conflict within our borders, while purging numerous high ranking officers in our military, and changing the threat from Islamic terrorist to TEA party members and patriots, you have to wonder.
A unit within the military using rapid force across the states targeting the most likely leaders in the movement could do great damage, if government intel is as good as expected. Taking out those who are seen having an ability to motivate and rally others into battle. Those with in-depth knowledge of insurgencies, and 4th generation warfare. Those who can organize and communicate under the radar comfortably, along with other vital skills that could be passed along. The lose of many of those patriots at the out start could leave many not knowing how to act. A lot of people would go into total defensive mode, and many wouldn't even have to be engaged in that capacity. It's hard to know the mindset of most patriots. Some have a basic survivalist way of thinking, and some think of conducting a war for liberty. Many prepare the same either way, and hope for qualified leadership to emerge. OATHKEEPERS.ORG
