Gun shop owner to auction off Bushmaster rifle for charity
A local gun shop owner is auctioning off one of his guns to help out one of his employees in need.
"Buy a gun, annoy a liberal." That's a T-shirt you can buy at Central Texas Gun Works in Austin. The owner, Michael Cargill is pro-gun but what he is not...is a conservative.
"Hey, I'm a Democrat and I support the second amendment. If someone wants to come in here and buy a gun, annoy a liberal, that's fine. They can do that!" Cargill said.
That's what makes the following even more interesting.
One of his employee's newborns has a serious heart condition. In order to prevent open heart surgery, they'll need around $3,000 for a separate procedure.
"And what we're doing is we're actually raffling off this Bushmaster. Because for one, I want to prove that guns do actually save lives," Cargill said.
In case you've forgotten, a Bushmaster just happens to be one of the same types of firearm used in the Sandy Hook Elementary massacre.
But Cargill says it's a semi-automatic. And he says it's pretty much the same thing as a .45 with slightly different ammo.
"People get this misconception of confusing this and calling this an assault weapon. Where if this is an assault weapon, this .45 is an assault weapon as well," Cargill said.
He says he's not trying to send a message by auctioning off such a controversial firearm. But he says people should realize guns like that are not evil.
"That is correct, in the hands of law abiding citizens, guns save lives," Cargill said.
You might recognize Cargill. He recently ran for constable on the Democratic ticket of course but did not win that contest.
He says anyone who wants to participate in the silent auction that lasts until Sunday can just come in and sign up. The bidding starts at $1,200.
FYI - More background reference ...
He’s A Democrat..And A Gun Shop Owner
Austin gun shop owner Michael Cargill, 43, might not fit the popular image of the gun rights movement. He’s gay and a Democrat. He didn’t grow up hunting, or with guns in his home. In fact, his family shunned guns like many other black families — a reaction, in part, to the harrowing rates of black-on-black homicide.
Cargill applied for a concealed-gun license 22 years ago, after his grandmother, who decided to get a nursing degree at the age of 70, was mugged and raped on the way home from the library. Now he runs Central Texas Gun Works in Austin, which specializes in concealed weapons. And while a recent poll shows six out of 10 Americans support stricter gun control laws, Cargill believes strongly that all law-abiding Americans should have a right to carry a gun for self-defense.

Prayers up for that little baby!
“Hey, I’m a Democrat and I support the second amendment.”
...he’s a fool. No such thing anymore.
In Michigan we have Rick Ector who is a black Detroit weapons instructor and open carry proponent. (He’s not gay)
He is a G-— D-— fool
“CARGILL, MICHAEL
“AUSTIN,TX 78753
BUSINESS OWNER

$250
Democratic Party of Texas”
Gay, black, democrat, owns a gun shop, sells “Buy a gun, annoy a liberal” T-shirts, supports Second Amendment.
Wow, that’s one mixed-up dude.
Ammo Question:
What’s the difference between the AR-15’s .223 round and M-16’s 5.56mm round? Can I fire .223 round in a 5.56 system or the other way around?
What is the effective range of an AR-15?
Where’s the GOP outreach to this guy and other’s like him?
