“14. Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.”
The language is bass ackwards - gun violence has one cause - a personality type (fixed or of the moment) stupid and immoral enough to assualt someone with a gun, and many ways and means of “prevention”, not one (but “prevention” only in the sense of possibly lower the frequency).
There is NO way to absolutely prevent “gun violence”, as no system of identification will identify and locate every person who might resort to gun violence before they do; any more than you can idenfify every consumer of alcoholic beverages who will drive a vehicle while drunk and commit vehiclular homicide - before they do.
But Obama is playing to the ignorant masses who think that if Obama is not alone G-d, the whole federal government surely is.

[your doctor is] not a law enforcement officialNot so fast.
In 1998:
... the Supreme Court ruled that a single false statement to a federal agent, including a simple "no" to an accusation, can be punished as a crime.
The law makes it a crime to utter "any false statement" to a federal agent, and "the word 'no' in response to a question assuredly makes a 'statement,'" said Justice Antonin Scalia for the 7-2 majority.
(excerpt from The Los Angeles Times)
I'd like to think you're correct. But, I don't know how the law is worded and, technically, anyone acting with the authority of the federal government could be considered a "federal agent."
These are perilous times. Those who favor dismantling (rather than repealing) the Second Amendment would be wise to consider that, in doing so, theyre inviting similar unlawful erosion of our First and Fourth Amendment rights in the foreseeable future. If they think that cant happen, they dont know human nature, history, and why the Bill of Rights was ratified in the first place.

# 5. ‘seize’ would include taking via ‘search incidence to arrest’.
IE: you get stopped as a ‘person of interest’ since your car matches the suspect’s description, they see you have a gun and take it while checking you out. it’s not unheard of for that return process to take foreever in certain cities.
now they have an excust to keep it longer to run checks.

By the way, is there any law on the books that says I even have to own gun locks or a gun safe? I dont own any such items. My gun is worthless in a safe. Its doing quite well on the night stand by my bed, its been there for several years now and still hasnt shot anybody. In some states, you are required to have a gun lock with you when you take a newly purchased firearm home. That doesn't mean you have to use the silly thing if it does not fit with your household situation, but you have to own (or borrow) it.

Great summary. Interesting that none of Obama’s EA would have prevented any of these massacres. Of course the MSM and obama are too afraid to take on the mental health establishment. But that is where action is needed.

- 1) Stupid useless suggestion to do something that is already being done.
- 2) Why haven't you already done that? Because 0commieCare is too confusing?
- 3) Stupid useless suggestion to do something that is already being done.
- 4) You can ask the AG for these recommendations but only Congress can ratify them into law. Basically useless anyway.
- 5) Stupid useless suggestion to do something that is already being done.
- 6) Stupid useless suggestion to educate FFL holders how to make a phone call which most of them do for free already.
- 7) This is a great idea! Have mandatory gun safety classes in grade school and jr. high and shooting classes with range time in high school. That could actually have a significant statistical impact on both violent crimes and accidents with guns. The NRA has been recommending this for decades.
- 8) Stupid useless suggestion to do something that is already being done by the private sector.
- 9) Stupid useless suggestion to do something that LE has been doing for decades.
- 10) Stupid useless suggestion to do something that the DoJ has been doing for decades.
- 11) Go for it, Dufus! Four years in and you just thought of that? lol
- 12) Stupid useless suggestion to do something that is already being done.
- 13) Why haven't you done this already? Your DoJ has a lower rate of 'gun' prosecutions than any previous administration. Don't you have Eric Holder's phone #?
- 14) Stupid useless suggestion to do something that the CDC has been doing for decades.
- 15) Stupid useless suggestion to do something that does nothing other than generate paperwork and employ more FedMob employees.
- 16) Stupid useless suggestion to tell doctors something that doctors already know.
- 17) Stupid useless suggestion to tell health care providers something that they already know.
- 18) Who thought you wouldn't do all you can to increase the number of gov union employees? Useless suggestion.
- 19) Stupid useless suggestion to do something that is already being done and doesn't need the FedMob making a mess of.
- 20) Who thought you wouldn't find a way to expand entitlements somewhere in your 'gun control' plan? Useless suggestion.
- 21) Yes, 0commieCare is a real mess but this has nothing to do with guns or violent crime.
- 22) See #21.
- 23) Go for it, Dufus. Who wouldn't want to hear what two mentally ill lickspittles of yours think about mental health? /s

declare gun ownership (more than 2 is ‘hoarding’ an’aresenal’) a disease and then you can involve doctors and shrinks.
#6 is just saying that ALL sales or transfers will HAVE to go through a dealer and NICS check. that will involve more $ , more bureaucrats, longer waits.

Look at #1, #2 and #16.
Taken together, it is the start of a registration scheme that starts in your doctor’s office.
Of course, many of us will refuse to answer, however, can you guarantee your husband/wife or children or anyone else living in your house will not answer?!
While you can discuss this with your wife and older children, you cannot control everyone.
Younger kids may slip with the information. Wives or husbands can get influenced by friends.
Have a fight with your spouse just before a doctor visit and some scorned people will try to hurt you by telling all about your collection.

They control the debate by only talking about the negative results of (some) gun ownership. We need to be louder about the positive aspects of firearms... and of so-called ‘high capacity’ magazines. It will be disastrous if we let them control the argument.

A quote allegedly by Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett has been spreading like wildfire online lately:
After we win this election, its our turn. Payback time. Everyone not with us is against us, and they better be ready, because we dont forget. The ones who helped us will be rewarded; the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve. There is going to be hell to pay. Congress wont be a problem for us this time. No election to worry about after this is over, and we have two judges ready to go.
Is This What Obama Meant by Revenge?

As I noted to a friend this afternoon, were I a liberal gun grabber I'm be upset by this effort. Other than wasting $500 million there's nothing here, and most of the "efforts" related to mental health will be opposed by the left.
The legislative effort is a more serious problem, one I suspect will fail though I'd feel better with better House leadership. I'm thinking Reid would like to get reelected in 4 years, so I doubt he'll be on the cutting edge of anything.

We need to be a lot more than louder. We need a complete paradigm shift on the way we approach this.
Here is my method, which they cannot defend against.
