Grassley suggests openness to gun control idea
CNN ^ | January 11, 2013 | Gregory Wallace

Sen. Chuck Grassley, a conservative Republican from Iowa, suggested Friday he may be open to a limited form of gun control - restricting the size of gun magazines - if that legislation does not violate the Constitutional protection of gun rights.

"I think that's a whole different issue and it can maybe be dealt with without violating the Second Amendment, but I want to see the legislation," Grassley told Iowa Public Television in an interview Friday.

But he reaffirmed his opposition to reinstating the assault weapons ban that Congress passed in 1994.

Asked if he would support limiting the capacity of gun magazines, Grassley further qualified his remark.

"I would not say at this point because Senator [Dianne] Feinstein has said her bill is going to be much different than the law she got passed in 1994 and I think I'd better wait 'til I see the legislation," he said...

These spineless creatures need to shut the He// up and stand for complete gun rights under our 2nd Amendment.

NO compromises.

NO WAY, NO HOW. NO BANS, NO FURTHER RESTRICTIONS.

Firearms manufacturing and sales are already the most heavily regulated industry in the US. Does any one seriously think a criminal or madman intent on causing mayhem gives a flying crap about a mag ban or any other law? They’re about to commit capital murder. Why would they give a flip about any gun laws they may also be violating.

If they want a 30-round mag, even if they can’t buy one, they could acquire one of the tens or hundreds of millions already in existence. Oh, of course, the pols will make it illegal to sell or transfer existing magazines. Why didn’t I think of that? Yeah, I’m sure the next person contemplating mass murder won’t dare violate that law. And even if all mags went “poof” and disappeared, ITS A FRIGGING METAL OR PLASTIC BOX WITH A SPRING IN IT. Ain’t hard to make one (or smuggle them in - I’m sure China would be glad to help that black market).

And does anyone really think lack of standard capacity magazines would have limited the carnage at Newtown? The kids were sitting ducks with no adult able to shoot back to defend them. The killer could have used a bolt action .22 against those defenseless young children.

The entire hand-wringing, hyperbolic, lie-filled political and media circus over more gun control is nauseating.

Flood him with e-mails, phone calls and letters.

I wrote some of my Republican Congresscritters in New Jersey, They seem to be going with Grassly and Obama on this. But they they were never strongly pro-gun.

See:

http://www.grassley.senate.gov/

They are surrender monkeys. The GOP compromises on this today, that tomorrow, and something else the day after. Bit by bit they compromise EVERYTHING away.

Meanwhile the socialist statists compromise on NOTHING and America drifts ever leftwards between the Scylla and Charybdis of the GOP and the Democrats.

Grassly like most of his ilk has been in there far too long. Its no longer a public service - its a public sinecure - an elected title of nobility.

Remember if you write, be polite, be firm, be concise.

I expect to hear the same kind of bullshit from my two RINO Senators, Chambliss and Isakson. I also expect to be providing a hefty check and campaign support for their Primary opponents.

Failing a primary loss for them, I expect to be voting for the Democrat running against them. I’d rather KNOW when a bastard is going to stab me in the back 100% of the time versus wondering which side of the damned fence these two will hop off on in any given freedom-taking question.

I’ve written and emailed both of them about this.

And, another RINO caves.

Gutless bastards. Moral relativism and political self-interest on clear display.

This is how we lost the tax battle. Drip drip drip from various “conservative” Republicans that keep feeding the beast until it becomes “bipartisan”.

Looks like the GOP is ready to sell Americans out on the 2d Amendment.

Will PhonyCon “conservative” talk radio and GOP Media be next?

Watch the stampede of the squishy RINOs as they fall all over each other over “sensible” gun control to take this issue off the table. I raise the “fickle finger salue” to you, Senator “Up”Chuck Grassley.

I’m thinking he was promised guaranteed Ethanol/Gasohol protection in exchange for his support of Obama gun control.

Most of IA people, I would think, are gun-grabbers. They turly believe that “problems” can be solved by “the government.” Senator Grassley is very attuned to how Iowa’s “man on the street” thinks. That’s why he always hedges his bets.

Quislings have long outnumbered constitutionalists in the GOP; ultimately, this must be blamed on inept Republican primary voters. And the defeat in 2012 of Richard Mourdock in IN will make such voters less likely in the future to rock the boat.

“Iowa” and “conservative” in the same sentence?

Our friend Grassley is instrumental in the fading Fast and Furious investigation. Wish there were truly conservative Republicans instead of the scheme in place to placate conservative voters with a “liberal lite” GOP.
