WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama has signed into law a bill granting lifetime Secret Service protection to former presidents and their wives.
The measure Obama signed Thursday applies to presidents elected after Jan. 1, 1997, specifically Obama and former President George W. Bush. It reverses a 1994 law that ended Secret Service protection 10 years after a president leaves office. Under that law, the Homeland Security secretary could extend such protection on a temporary basis.

Maybe he is reserving the Secret Service Protection over Hillary’s head just to make sure she doesn’t remember Benghazi.
I’m surprised that Obama is so self centered. If former presidents deserve protection for life, then why not George H. W. Bush and Jimmy Carter too? Besides, Obama is only hoping that he will be considered a former president if he ever leaves office - I hope a patriotic Congress will some day resolve that problem and rule that Obama was merely an ineligible usurper, and everything he did is null and void.
All the SS in the world won’t protect him against God’s judgement.

The Second Amendment is ordinary American Citizens “lifetime protection.”

Carter, H.W. Bush and Clinton already have lifetime protection.
I think the closest call that Bush Jr. had was the rocket propelled grenade that didn’t go off when he visited one of the Bulkan countries. I think the perp was likely a Muslim.
