British Fashion Council member David Gandy has vowed to make London the 'menswear capital of the world.'
Bizarre hats made out of wooden planks, models with 'blacked out' faces, and some ankle swinging sportswear were among some of the truly outlandish designs which kicked off Men's fashion week today. [snip copyrighted images]
Hat by Home Depot.
I actually went to high school with three of the guys from Devo, Bob and Mark Mothersbaugh plus their kid brother Jim. Weird family, especially for a small semi-rural suburban area, but definitely original. I still laugh when I think about some of the s*** Jim pulled and I always admired the music they did for “Rugrats”. The “fashions” shown here here are just plain stupid.
I got a kick out of their stuff, back in the day. I thought they had a great sense of humor. But then I read that they were somewhat serious about “de-evolution,” and, well, I liked them better when they were funny.
Sounds like the designers were Moe, Larry, and Curly.

I just HAD to look. You're RIGHT!
No knowing Ms. Delauro, I thought (hopefully) you were referring to the gorgeous lass in the red dress. Alas, no...
Holding hands with his daughter (or granddaughter?). How sweet...
LOL!! Who? What??
You give no credence to de-evolution? How else would you explain the millions who pulled the lever for ODumbo??
I looked. It’s too late for me to make an emergency appointment with my optometrist.
Eyewash! Stat!
It was a bit of wry humor about grave-robbing oldsters. Suppers gone, Dan...maybe you should just stand there looking.

He’s the one near the grave; she’s just out of the cradle.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!
{draws deep breath}
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!
I too thought the idea that humanity is actually regressing was silly. The last few years' events (not to mention our most recent election) have me wondering. The plastic hats and day glow overalls were over the top, but that was also the time for huge neck ties, enormous lapels, afros, gawd awful double knit, glitter, and platform shoes. Out of all that Devo is the one bizarre image out of so many I can recall with a chuckle.
Apparently blackface is back in fashion.
