The goal is always the same: 30 to 10 to 7 to “five or six”, to 3 to 1 to NONE.

Mayor Bloomberg Blasts NRA: ‘Connecticut Is Because of Some of Their Actions’

...
But if he had his preference, Bloomberg said he would go farther than the 1994 ban and outlaw all automatic and semi-automatic weapons and high-capacity magazines. The mayor said magazines shouldn’t be allowed to contain more than five or six rounds.

“If you haven’t hit the deer with three shots, you’re a pretty lousy shot. The deer deserves to get away,” he said....

(I) A PISTOL GRIP;
...
(IV) A SHROUD ATTACHED TO THE BARREL, OR THAT PARTIALLY OR COMPLETELY ENCIRCLES THE BARREL, ALLOWING THE BEARER TO HOLD THE FIREARM WITH THE NON-TRIGGER HAND WITHOUT BEING BURNED, BUT EXCLUDING A SLIDE THAT ENCLOSES THE BARREL;

"pistol grip" and "shroud" would be interpreted to cover an M1A1 and an M1 carbine. Note also that they propose increased penalties if the citizen owns two to nine other Non prohibited firearms.

On the other hand, there apparently is a grandfather clause under tight restrictions (some of which are not clear in the proposed act...it's at para. S3)

Anyone seen the MSM news report that was evidently presented last Fri or Sat stating that the Bushmaster was indeed left in the trunk and that the crime had been done only with pistols?

Got a link to this supposed "MSM" news report?

Unless a Bushmaster has a charging handle on the side and shoots shotgun shells, the weapon recovered from the trunk is clearly not a Bushmaster.

Got links? I think the medical examiner said all wounds were .223.

Thank God they overreached. Every pistol and rifle with a detachable magazine?

__________________________________

It doesn't say that at all. It limits the number of rounds in any such to ten. And lists features that in addition to the ten rd mag would make it an 'assault weapon'.

This is essentially the old AWB vis a vis weapon description.

The over-reach is making possession of more than two firearms a felony.

It will go nowhere.

What if I haven’t hit the dumbass politician after 3 shots, Mr. Bloomberg? Can’t I have a few more shots?

Hey Ahole, the 2A is not about hunting. Keep it up, and you may find our precisely why it was put into place.

Write and call your congresscritters.

Join the NRA.

Join the GOA.

Take others shooting.

Buy all you can to support the gun industry and show them how much firepower they are up against.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Nope. It says that they must be turned in, destroyed or rendered inoperable, even if they were legally owned prior to January 2014.

Nevertheless, it is important to recognize the enemy and be prepared to act should the time come. Some specifics are in post #12. Find a picture and memorize the face.

As a lawyer - i am planning my long game.

I am going to send a certified letter to the journal newsto start as well as their insurance carrier putting them on notice for potential tort claims as a result of their negligence.

No grandfather. No possession. No registration. B-felony. Same as Rape 1 or Manslaughter 1.

If it is prosecuted and punished the same as rape and manslaughter, there’s nothing to worry about. Just ignore it
