There’s a sort of sick irony to this.
I’ll explain:
Back in the 1980’s, parents became more concerned with “Me time” and leaned heavily on experimental medications to keep their children quiet and complacent.
Now it’s 2013, and these kids experimentally drug the parents to keep them quiet and complacent.

What a fine crop of sociopaths the schools and ‘modern enlightened parenting’ have turned out.

It could possibly have been a lethal dose in the milkshakes - any offspring of mine doing that would be disowned and gone from my home.

The most likely sleep aid to cause headaches is (prescription) Ambien.

An overdose of Ambien can be fatal when it is taken together with other medications that can cause drowsiness. Overdose symptoms may include sleepiness, confusion, shallow breathing, feeling light-headed, fainting, or coma.

Those parents should be very glad that they didn’t wake up dead.

I’ll bet little princess never had a spanking growing up. My kids were/are all typical teenagers but they knew the consequences of waking the sleeping near.

If you read other papers’ write-ups of this disgusting crime (for example, the Daily Mail from the UK), you will see that (1) the kid had tried the same thing before and (2) she is not a natural-born daughter of these parents, but that they are her legal guardians after having her as a foster child. A cuckoo in the nest!

So the newspaper had to go to a child therapist to discover that kids drugging their parents is not a good thing? Did anyone else find that unintentionally hilarious?

“The girls wanted to use the Internet, and they’d go to whatever means they had to,” Milka said.

I assume that means outright killing them if the milkshakes didn’t work. Wonderful century this is going to be. sarc/
