One of the first items on the agenda for Congress in January 2013, if not the first, will be the new and even more Draconian assault weapons and magazine ban long since drafted by Dianne Feinstein, Democrat Senator from California. Here, in 1995, Dianne Feinstein explains why she would ban all private ownership of firearms if she could:
----
Moreover, THE TRANSFER TAX (REGISTRATION TAX) PER ITEM IS $200 APIECE FOR NFA ITEMS! Only, this would be a transfer from you to yourself, an extortionistic demand that you pay to keep something you have already legally purchased and responsibly owned. Its your classic example of bad lawmaking, with ex post facto overtones that would criminalize millions of law-abiding Americans.
And, Senator Feinstein, please tell the American Public what happens to these expensive firearms, these investments, after we grandfathered owners die? Will we be able to bequeath them to our children? Will we be able to sell them to afford nursing care in our old age ?
All this, let me remind you, would apparently be for your lawfully owned semiautomatic arms capable of working with a magazine of more than ten rounds. That would include the Winchester .351 rifle of 1907 and the Remington Model 8 hunting rifle patented in the year 1900, not just your AR15 or your Mini-14 Ruger Ranch Rifle. It would include the 1903 model Colt .32 pistol that saved my grandfathers life in the early 20th Century, and the WWI vintage Colt .45 pistol that sits in my gun safe at the moment. And it would include the .22 caliber Ruger 10/22 rifle you use when you take your kids to an Appleseed seminar on marksmanship and history, or just plinking at the backyard backstop.

She can pack sand.
she can pack a grenade, sans pin.
I’m guessing 10+ round mags would be NFA.
.
From my understanding, NFA is very specific and does not include semi-autos.
MANY people will have to pay $1,000 in order to register items that will later BE TAKEN FROM THEM...!
Why not pay nothing and keep what you have?
I don’t get it —as they write the law it ASSURES non-compliance.
It’s like fining people to AVOID drunk-driving.
Any elected official that has verbalized or written such a blatant disregard for the constitution and Bill of Rights ought to be immediately dragged from their office and jailed. The trial should consist of their words recommending that the constitution be violated. Time for tolerance in letting our leaders violate the document that gives them the permission to govern is at an end.
Most people don’t realize that as SF City Supervisor she was very close to Reverand Jim Jones of the People’s Temple —the cult guy who killed many hundreds down in Guyana.
THAT was the event that generated the term, “drink the Kool Aid” (the cyanide was in grape Kool Aid).
Jones melded Marxism with religion, and he had been very effective with counciling troubled black yutes from Oakland.
As a up-and-comer Feinstein was close to local religious leaders, particularly progressive ones.
NO ONE CALLED HER ON THIS.
Whatever Feinstein b**** I lost all of my weapons in a boating accident.
Jailed? That’s treason! You know what we USED to do with traitors. Time to begin again!
When categories are added to NFA (see Street Sweeper history) the $200 tax is waived during an amnesty period.
Not justifying anything, just noting realities. Misguided hysteria doesn’t help.
Long overdue.
This is her home. She is almost the wealthiest in the Senate, and she is now married to a lawyer for the Communist Chinese.
Since it is perched atop a very steep San Francisco hill, the house goes down a long way behind what you see, there.
Her view is spectacular, and the house is palatial. She is richer than you can imagine.
Her bill expands NFA.

"Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. 'We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with." ('Atlas Shrugged' 1957)
Handiwork of her buddy: 383 dead, including many kids.
