Untill we oust the people from the movement that continually push us in a RINO direction and excuse failure, we are going nowhere.

Eventually people will realize this. The enemy within is always the biggest problem.

You know that it’s really bad when Mitch and Rimshot Joe have to ride to the rescue.

The fix was in from the beginning. The "rescue" was nothing more than a charade to raise taxes now and then raise taxes even more in 2 months.

I have screamed it on thread after thread.

BHONER HOLDS THE POWER OF THE PURSE.

All the billions to terrorist countries, all the BS spending in Washington DC is all on him and the House GOP.

PERIOD.

If they do not auth the money, or the borrowing, where does Obama get it to do his whatever?

He doesn’t.

But no one wants to admit this has ALWAYS been the GOP’s problem. Obama can’t do poop without them giving him money to wipe with.

So how does it feel to be both singlehandedly, personally responsible for the failure of western civilization, while also being just another right-winger that is shouting in the wind that will have no effect?

The shills have told me both in the same post, right here on FR.

I smell fear.

You do realize, I hope, that broader tax-hikes just happened as a result of previous Congressional actions, and will stay in effect unless Congress passes something.

Quite frankly, I think the House should pass a bill embodying exactly the tax provisions of the McConnell deal, and just for kicks adding the abolition of the AMT and a Romney-style cap on deductions at some fairly high amount, say $100K (let the Senate try stripping it out and forcing a conference committee), and refuse to pass anything else, letting the sequestration cuts take place and the debt ceiling remain exactly where it is.

As long as the GOP exists, people have an excuse. “We can’t NOT vote for them cuz the dems will have all the power!!!”

Newsflash: They do now.

This was the fear that drove so many to back/vote Romney. They all admitted it openly.

Look at this thread. Fear. We can’t. We have to. Not ‘we have to save ourselves. Nope. We ‘have’ to keep voting for failure so we have an excuse.

Gutless. Pure gutless. It’s the same crap I read about the border fence by ‘conservatives’. Oh we can’t. My business will be hurt!’ To HELL with your business. Your freaking family and everyone elses is about to become communist you damn fools!

But no. As long as they can blame someone else for their OWN failure, they will grab a hammer in one hand, a sickle in the other and march off to do the work of ‘the people’.

Makes me sick. But it is what it is. People’s actions show them for who and what they are.

Relax, jimbo. Take a breath. indianrightwinger is correct. McConnell explicity explained this is the taxing side of the equation, in which they've extracted some nice concessions given the circumstances.

The spending will be addressed with the debt limit, coming soon, and in which we have more bargaining power. If they're bold this could be a nice win

Pretty good actually ;)

Then again I have been branded a traitor to my country for not supporting Romney with feverant zeal so I can deal with it I guess.

Then let it go a conference and let the real negotiations begin.

The real negotiations will (hopefully) begin when raising the debt ceiling gets debated.

This is old ground. One can blame the GOP, karl rove or whoever you wish. There is some merit to that. But conservatives themselves were to blame by splitting the vote between newt and santorum. Rallying and uniting conservatives is like trying to herd cats.

“Jennifer Rubin writes the Right Turn blog for The Post, offering reported opinion from a conservative perspective.”

Who is this guy, below?

He held himself out as the “conservative voice of MSNBC.”

He substituted for Rush Limbaugh in the late `90s (once).

He sailed a National Review cruise ship as a member of their panel of conservative luminaries (just before I cancelled my subscription).

Chris Matthews.

The MSM can call a jacka** a horse if they want, but that doesn’t make them horses.

Now, they have been made permanent for 99.4% of tax payers. Well, that is a step in our direction.

Not really a step in our direction.

The people who contribute the most to the economy are taking the hit with the compromise or deal just made. That can't be good for the economy or country or the republicans. It's also a lose/lose proposition for republicans when it comes to what the voters will do. The low-information voters will take it as a win for the democrats and for Obama, while still blaming the republicans for protecting the well-off and rich; remember that, to democrats, rich is defined as somebody making more than just a decent salary.

If republicans are still going to not be getting the votes of those ignoramuses, and those same people have become dependent upon government, then, giving an inch to the democrats just makes things worse for the country and the republicans.

Essentially, the democrats have the republicans in "check" and going for the killing with "checkmate". The only thing that can bring the country back, is for the economic collapse to finally happen, which might then get the people to finally start seeing the error of their ways. But, knowing how democrats and the ignorant electorate works, they will still be blaming republicans for the collapse and for their own bad economic conditions.

So, the only thing left for republicans to do, is to just not give an inch and to actually try to reverse the course that the country finds itself in.

Yeah...I know BOLD is a stretch for Boehner, but he may not even be in charge then, when the debt ceiling must be addressed. It's the only hope to which I can cling.

I can live with McConnel's tax breaks, estate tax improvements, ATM adjustments, a holding pattern on the sequestered cuts. Pubbies should smell victory if they win serious spending cuts, while giving little on debt limits, ... far better than I would have ever imagined given the circumstances.

Lots to shake out in upcoming months. I'm looking for someway to get to Nov '14, when TP2 shows up.
