Another good one - outlawing sex will work about as well as outlawing guns... It’s a twofer alright.

I could live for centuries before the thought of banning citrus fruits independently entered my mind. It might then take a couple of centuries of extreme senility before I took that thought seriously.

In Africa and many places in South and Central America, it is the machete.

No, I am not even slightly joking.

This will not, of course, apply to members of the Religion of Peace. They need long knives for honor killings and beheadings. Sharia Law trumps English Common Law! Go Islam.

This story go the ‘Rhubarb’ treatment years ago.
But it is heartening to see the responses it created here. :)

When the government is paying for your health care, they tend to take a great interest in your health and safety. They have some of the biggest boobs you’ve ever seen in your life, the kind of jackass that sees danger lurking everywhere, the kind of boob that lives for the next fire drill, and is always paranoid that someone’s eye is going to be poked out kind of boob employed, who job is to sit around all day and dream up some more health and safety regulation BS, or some kind of 12 hour safety course on how to climb a frikken ladder, these A holes have very vivid imaginations too

Arrgh! Now we’re going to do it here too with 0bamaCare and in typical American fashion we’re going to double down on it.

I’ve been in exile for half of my life, I’m a duel national. As far as this being satire, you never can tell, I read it in the Metro, the free paper on public transport. It’s a questionable source, but you have to admit given the amount of boobs in charge, health and safety, and mountains of regulatory burdens surrounding just about every aspect of your life, could this be satire or are they serious?

I live in England, and I read somewhere recently that they are planning on banning citrus fruit for health and safety reasons. Watch the number of scurvy cases to rise.

i’m not disagreeing with you, your post 51 is awesome.
‘They’ probably where deadly serious, but ‘they’ also proved fruit and veg are vital to healthy life.
As you say given the number of egits in charge it can be hard to tell, but this is just a case of an escaped April fool joke, i hope.
The Metro is a sensationalist rag, only the cartoon page is worth the effort.
Plus both stories are now rather elderly, we would have received our new thought instructions by now. :)

It came from a mistake during the filming of a 'movie' using a real Royal navy crew on a sailing ship.
The Director needed noise for the background effect ,so the crew where instructed to use a random word.
This word was provided by the Petty officer in charge....'Rhubarb'...was the word.
However this came into contact with the British Military mind.
In perfect synchronisation the crew bellowed at the top of their voices 'Rhubarb, Rhubarb,,,,'.
Since that date rubbishing an issue loudly and in public by a crowd has been known as 'Rhubarbing', in certain circles. :)
