From much I have seen, psychology and psychiatry are both mental disorders in which the sickest of the sick project their own insanity onto their ‘patients’ and the world around them.

Along these lines, doesn’t putting the government in charge of medical care give government the power to make its own medical definitions for things like mental health and mental illness? Therefore, it’s easy to see the subsequent step(s) implementing communist-type mental illness punishment and confinement for anyone disagreeing with these burned-out hippie and cultural tyrants.
That’s why they call us gun nuts I guess. No sane person has need of semi auto rifles in their opinions. Call me crazy but I don’t trust leftist socialist governments, especially when they start going after firearms.

Gun ownership can be limited to qualified individuals.
1. Age requirement. That is a no-brainer. Concealed carry especially should have a minimum age, perhaps 25 (the age at which the male brain is mostly mature).
This does not prevent a teenager from hunting with a parent or other responsible adult.
2. Qualification. A safety course, and a practical course, somewhat similar to that required for police. No problem for most serious gun enthusiasts.
3. No permits for felons. By far the most reliable way of predicting behavior is by past record.
4. No permits for foreigners, except those from countries who will permit our own citizens. This means only, essentially, Canada. Not México.
5. No serious mental disease. Schizophrenia should be an absolute disqualification: it is dangerous, and incurable. Although it is treatable, patients frequently skip their medications.
6. Permitting should be done by the states. This is a 10th Amendment thing.
7. Guns must be under the control of the permittee at all times. That means a kid should not have free access to his parent’s guns, as in the CT case, or Columbine.

I disagree. Psychiatrists, psychologists, etc., etc. are WELL known to use their political leanings to erase anyone who disagrees with them. When I came back from VN, with eight other guys we were taken straight off the plane and put in Andrews AFB psyche unit. We had all put in three tours, so we must be nuts, Right? We talked to a Jewish Dr., sloppy, not military, proudly anti-war, and took our weapons (and any hope of ever going back or getting our weapons back) off us and said he didn’t care about our future in the service. I got out and the other guys were RIFD’ed because they were unstable. The psyche area is NOT scientific nor should it be considered reliable or specific.
The American Psychiatric Association normalized homosexuality years ago- because they are another arm of the far left. They are pushing gun control now- for the same reason.
There’s a very simple way to thwart this plan. If you ever get sent for a “mental health evaluation” by the state, just tell them that you are a proud homosexual and you feel very offended that they are persecuting you for the way you were born. They can’t start diagnosing the queers as mentally ill, since that is a no-no. Turn the inconsistencies of liberalism against itself.
Hypothetically, this makes perfect sense. Then when all the law abiding gun owners are stripped of that right, further resistance can be treated as a mental disorder. Those resisting the peace and restraint of the benevolent government, can be humanely disappeared, and placed in rehabilitation facilities...
Wait, didn’t they do that in the old USSR?
Not the case with schizophrenia. It has definite symptoms, as well as chemical signatures (in acute phases).
Schizophrenics have high rates of alcoholism, nicotine addiction, illegal drug use, and homelessness. They are often withdrawn and anti-social, and seldom can hold a job. A very large proportion of homeless people are actually schizophrenic.
They are completely unsuitable to receive gun permits.
